Christmas weekend is upon us

Featured Replies

Well, here I am packing for tomorrow afternoon's flight up to PDX. I will stick around Friday night and all of Monday, the 25th, before flying out.

Sat and Sun will probably be a jaunt to Seattle, overnighting up there. I can only stay near my Mom for very limited doses as she is both a pain-in-the-ass and stupid...sorry. (I was told, "I hope you bring up some nice clothes and go to Mass on Christmas day." ) I can't believe that someone who can't do ANYTHING would need to instruct me...I have no problem with the Mass part, as I will probably find a parish to duck into and go to church, but the apparel part is out of control.

At any rate, how will you be spending the upcoming holiday weekend? (Today I was wondering about moltar and the blast of snow which closed down Denver, a major air hub).

Friday night: shopping.

Saturday: relaxing.

Sunday: Polish Christmas Eve. We have a few family members over to eat seven types of seafood (mind of like the Italian Christmas Eve, I believe) and some Polish stuff, most of which is nasty so I won't go into detail.

Monday: Christmas. My family will host about 15 people for the day. I'm making fresh cranberry sauce and a dessert. This will be the first year ever we have hosted Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. This is what happens when extended family moves away. :(

Finished shopping. Getting ready for the two side of folks to come out. My hubsand's coming in from Calgary and mine coming in from the states. We're going to have a house full. I have to finish shopping for the dogs and get some stuff at the market for dinner on Sunday night. Thankfully the kids can help out.

I hope everyone has a great holiday and that there is the GM product of your choice under your Christmas tree this year.

Because of the blizzard here in Denver a few days ago, my Xmas plans have been totally fouled up..so my g/f and I are hanging out here in town for the holiday...off work until the 2nd, going to rest and play around with my home computers next week...

Well, pretty much the same as every other year. Go to my dad's side of the family around noon, then head over to my mom's side of the family around 5. However, I have a feeling we will either be piling into my Millenia or my dad's truck... Awesome.

In May, we began planning a trip to see my sister and my soon-to-be brother-in-law in Charleston...but events in my dad's branch of the family that occurred in October (they actually began way before I was born, but only really've began to affect us in October, and still are occurring) have f'ed that plan. We don't even have a tree this year. We've been on tenterhooks up until yesterday whether or not we'd go and see my dad's parents in Delaware, but that plan fell through, too, partly because of the ongoing issues. So we're now scheduled to go to my cousins' house (mom's side) in Silver Spring for brunch. I'm definitely irked that we're not going somewhere warm for a change, but I never complain to see my cousins' kids. It also helps that a lot of people that will be there are great cooks, like my cousin's mom, who makes killer egg rolls (she's Japanese), and my aunt's peach cobbler.

Edit: Merry Christmas everyone!

C'mon what would a Polish holdiay be without some Polka dancing? Break out the Larry!

I will taking the time over the holiday to enhance my Project Manager voodoo shrine......

I just got back from work, and I head back there in 7 hours. That gives me 30 minutes to eat dinner, 4 1/2 hours to sleep, and an hour to eat breakfast and get ready for work!

So yeah, plenty of work this weekend!
