December 28, 200619 yr Nissan goes after the Honda CR-V with a new compact crossover Is a car company trying too hard to attract younger buyers when it names its new compact crossover after an X-Men character? Well yes it would be, but that's not the case with the 2008 Nissan Rogue, which makes its debut at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. According to Nissan, the name Rogue was chosen to reflect "its independence-oriented positioning." Not sure what that means, but at least they didn't call it the Wolverine. Inside Line
December 28, 200619 yr Interior is nicer than the RAV4 and CR-V, in my opinion. Should compete well with the CR-V.
December 28, 200619 yr It's pretty nice, but I don't think the name 'Rogue' suits this vehicle at all.
December 28, 200619 yr 'Rogue' would be better as a Jeep name...surprised Chrysler didn't trademark it, since it is an old AMC name (from the Rambler Rogue ht in the '60s).
December 28, 200619 yr Since Reg hasn't posted yet, I will give you guys a preview of what his post may look like: IT SUCKS IT ONLY HAS A 4 CYLINDER! NO V6!! GHEY!! Edited December 28, 200619 yr by siegen
December 28, 200619 yr Cheesy.... Looks like a CR-V has but sex with a retarded Murano about 9 months ago. That's evolution for ya!
December 28, 200619 yr It looks sexy inside and out, but it needs something different for the front fascia.. I'm not liking the headlights or something; I just can't nail what I don't like about it though.
December 28, 200619 yr Suzuki wants its grille back. P.S. Optional trip computer resides in the middle.Optional?! Lame.

December 28, 200619 yr It looks like kind of like that Kia Rondo thing in the front. Interior is nothing special, but if this is just average it will be better than the CR-V.
December 28, 200619 yr You guys are jerking off over this interior?!? It's a poor rip off of an Equinox!
December 28, 200619 yr You guys are jerking off over this interior?!? It's a poor rip off of an Equinox! You're not serious are you? I see exactly zero Equinox in the Rogue interior. BTW, I know I pictured the old Equinox interior. It's impossible to rip off an interior that was released around the same time (new Equinox interior). Plus, the Rogue doesn't look like that one, either.
December 28, 200619 yr For a (I'm guessing) $21,000ish vehicle, that interior is spectacular, IMO, and nothing like the Equinox's. Edited December 28, 200619 yr by NOS2006
December 28, 200619 yr It sort of reminds me of the new Santa Fe from the side, which is nothing to aspire to. I agree with those that like the interior, however.
December 28, 200619 yr it's ugly from the side view, from the front, and the back. yuck, but at least the interior has the details right, and it's a nice looking place too.
December 29, 200619 yr I'm not sure how many of you are sick to death of hearing from me about 1950s Hardtops... but it must feel a LOT like I feel about modern interiors. 99% of the time I just do not care.

December 29, 200619 yr It's alright, but the exterior isn't exactly what I was hoping for. I'm with Satty, I wish it looked more like the Murano.
December 29, 200619 yr Nice-lookin cute-ute. A couple of things, though: In profile, it looks a lot like the new Santa Fe. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just suprising. Nissan's wheel arches are getting bigger with each iteration. Before long the quarter panels will be one big wheel arch. I don't like that, because visually it makes the wheels/tires look smaller than they are, negating the mostly cosmetic effect of larger-rimmed tires. It should be quite competitive, though, and I do like the interior. -RBB
December 29, 200619 yr It's a great looking crossover, inside and out. The interior is beautiful, especially for it's class; the exterior loos like the baby brother to the Murano (and having a familar Nissan face) without being a clone. I think Nissan may have a hit with this one.
December 29, 200619 yr Suzuki wants its grille back. P.S. Optional?! Lame. \\and Pontiac wants it's G6 interior back as well. This thing is a mish mash of styles which is to bad because all they had to do was make a smaller version with more of the Murano styling cues. Looks fine in profile but that front end is hideous.
December 29, 200619 yr The interior looks pretty nice. I'm liking the chocolate brown color. The exterior needs some work, though. It looks like it was designed by Hyundai, like it's the next-gen Tuscon. I guess the transition from big Murano to small Murano hit a bump somewhere along the line.
January 1, 200719 yr BTW, I know I pictured the old Equinox interior. It's impossible to rip off an interior that was released around the same time (new Equinox interior). Plus, the Rogue doesn't look like that one, either. Not entirely... Anyway... HEY! Check it out! Someone glued a Nissan logo onto an old Highlander... Oh, wait, it's the new Nissan Rogue. This thing annoys me ALMOST as much as the actual X-Men character.
January 1, 200719 yr Anyway... HEY! Check it out! Someone glued a Nissan logo onto an old Highlander... Oh, wait, it's the new Nissan Rogue. What is up with all of the just plain off comparisons? In what way does the Nissan look anything like this?:
January 1, 200719 yr I wonder if there is someone in America, psychotically dedicated to this model name, and finally able to trade in that old Rambler.
January 2, 200719 yr Looks better than the other crap out there-think about it-the compact crossover SUV segment consists of what-those Compass and Escape/Tribute/Mariner crapcakes (ancient crapcakes for the latter trio), the gutless/bad-wacky CR-V, and the soon-to-be-redesigned VUE, which is pretty boring looking, IMO. So, it seems this and RAV4 are the class contenders, and VUE, once it comes out. In other words, not bad, but I haven't read/seen the whole thing yet. Also, does this replace the X-Trail in other markets, including Canada?

Try the 07 Equinox interior instead of the old one.
January 2, 200719 yr Try the 07 Equinox interior instead of the old one. Like I said.... ...nothing alike.
January 3, 200719 yr I thought you were saying the Rouge looked better than the Nox, hence I said to use the 07.
