January 19, 200719 yr So they made changes to the cars so they are all still pretty much the same, only dorkier looking? Sly, you must not follow NASCAR, the reason for the wing is obvious. Its another place to put a Levitra ad.
January 19, 200719 yr Author It's hilarious that it handles worse than the current cars....going in a circle is tough work I guess...what a POS.

I hope NASCAR pays the price for shoveling out this ugly thing and looses so many fans it's screwed. Why would you wish that? It may be ugly, but their only intent it to make the racing better (i.e. no more restictor plates at superspeedways, so that they guys can actually race, not just show how good they are at drafting). Now, whether or not the COT actually acomplishes that task is what has so many people upset. Many of the owners and drivers are complaining that the car does not do what they designed it to do.
January 19, 200719 yr i wish we could go back to they day when they raced cars with factory stock body's.... that would put an even bigger boost in the new age muscle car age that seems to be on its way

But, it won't happen. Progress seems to be the catch phrase. *shrugs* It's going to be even harder to distinguish between the makes of cars now. Oh, well. Well, I have Zero respect for what NASCAR passes off as "racing" NASCAR Rep: Hey...dude....I reckon we can make these babies go faster around the track if we make the car uglier and put a giant spoiler that would make a Civic owner proud, and make some bolted on thing that passes as a front spoiler but looks liek something off teh side of a building. Rep 2: Let's make it "safer" so as to justify it...and by safer I mean harder to drive. Rep 1: Harder to drive eh? But won't that make it more dangerous? Rep2: They go in a circle for like 4 hours...how much skill does that take?! This isn't LeMans or or RallySport...this is good ol' redneck racin'! Rep1: Good point. But what about Toyota? It's not American Rep2: CR says it is...plus who cares, we're all too drunk and stupid to know anyway...plus the cars look the same now! I dunno where I was going with that rant, but seriously...who enjoys this crap? You watch ugly ass cars that looked like they were designed and made in China race in a circle for hours. How is that enjoyable? I ghuess you need to be drunk to know. At least LeMans and Rallysport use real cars...that look like their production variants.

February 2, 200719 yr I miss the stock bodies big time. Problem was GM's cars in the late 80's were no match for Ford's aerodynamics. So they had to "dumb down" the cars to make sponsors happy. The 1990 Lumina 2 door 'stock' car was the first of the 'shop class bodies'. The money grubbers couldnt care less, they call it 'body parity'. BARF!
March 4, 200719 yr Well they proved it at the Bristol test session, the front splitter isn't durable. The whole car isn't all that great handling, and as far as suspension set ups and etc, they're having to go BACK in their setup books to like the late 90s to get something that'll work. Most of the drivers are complaining about it. Hell, even the inspection process to get the car checked in at the start of the day takes about an hour (much longer than it used to).
