There's a dealership in Toronto dumping their remaining '06 Tauruses for CAD$13,988.

For comparison, the bloody Aveo is CAD$12,995, and the Cobalt is $14,930.

If I was in the market for a car that big right now, I might even look past the fact that it's a F**d.

See... that's the thing, if you're in the market for a POS sedan right now

and you don't have any standards this is the perfect deal. Still Ford sux

& Tauruses eat through transmissions like a fat kid through Cheetos.

That's an unbelievable deal. I like the Taurus. I had a 1995 Taurus, in fact, and loved it - but Taurus's are known for not holding up over time. I don't know if that's changed with the final generation, but that was true, with the generations preceding it.

Unless you get a Friday car, you can expect the Taurus to be relatively trouble free. However, most newer Taurus's use the AXOD transaxle, which you can expect to go at around 100k. If you do buy the car, make sure the transaxle is serviced regularly.

I will not get it even if they offer me money to take one.

A better deal is the $17,500 s/c 2007 Grand Prix GT with 5k miles I keep seeing on eBay.

I'm not buying one - just sharing a deal.

First of all, I can't afford another new car now, and second of all there's no way I'd buy something that big.

i saw some 06 tauri advertised for like 8 grand with less than 20k on them.

BEST DEAL EVER.

but the taurus is like the neighborhood Jezebel, everyone has had one.........

I've seen 06 and 07 Tauruses going around 10 grand here new...

The newer ones seen to hold up well..and the people I know who have them seem to have little or no issues....

I wouldn't just buy one, unless it was more of a DD/beater to keep my (new) GM car out of the weather....

Tauruses make good beaters...
