Creepy commercial....

Featured Replies

Have you seen the new Orville Redenbacher microwavable popcorn commerical? If not, check it out here first:

It's creepy! This guy has been dead since 1995, yet the company decided to resurect him for their new ad??? He looks fake - I watched E!'s "Talk Soup" show yesterday and they said it was a combination of live action, Orville's head & lots of CG effects. But I think it's creepy. Especially in the beginning of the commercial, I think all the people in it think it's creepy to see a dead guy boppin' to an MP3 player and making popcorn- just look at their faces (especially the white guy with glasses)!

And best of all, at the end of the commercial he says "You'll like it better, or my name isn't Orville Redenbacher" -- well, he isn't Orville Redenbacher!!!:lol::duh:

Yeah I was gonna say he doesn't look real...it looks fake and creepy...plus the idea of the commercial in general is stupid...comparing an mp3 player to popcorn.

I saw that one: all I could think was "Why do they think Zombies will make me want to buy popcorn? Is that brain-flavored popcorn?"

"I'm Harley Earl, and I've come back to build you a car"

Yeah, bringing back the dead for advertising purposes is ridiculous.

Yeah, there were some Harley Earl commercials a few years ago.

At least the Harley Earl commercials used a live-action actor. And the KFC commercials from a few years back used a hand-drawn cartoon version of Colonel Sanders.

But this isn't right. I must refer again to the Uncanny Valley. Congratulations, Orville Redenbacher. You have just repulsed millions of people.

OMG! I thought that he had been dead! That commercial freaked me out.

Weird... I agree, they need to get a new ad agency. I DO NOT want to go out and buy popcorn after that.

Im gonna go make me some popcorn.
