January 31, 200719 yr DO IT! Part out the 396 & the entire yellow one.... then keep the psychadelic one and restore it as "SPACE TRUCK II" =)
January 31, 200719 yr The "999999999" miles on it, coupled with the fact that this guy can't spell for $h!, and no VIN number raise the red flags to me. Also, why are there 2 different ones? Are they both up for bid?
January 31, 200719 yr Author There are some Issues for sure... mostly paperwork that could take 30 days or more to work out. But there are pluses too. The auction includes both cars.
January 31, 200719 yr Author I'm liking this one too: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/El-Camino-1...1QQcmdZViewItem
January 31, 200719 yr The '69 looks a lot better to me. The interior is actually in decent shape, and it already has nice wheels and tires, which saves you some money in the restoration process. Obviously the downside is you're only getting 1 El Camino instead of two, but do you really have time to restore two at once, anyways? I guess you could resell the one you decided not to restore, but the '69 looks like a much easier project.
January 31, 200719 yr Author The '69 is a very original, straight, unmolested car. But, it is a plain Jane. The other two are more complicated and if the SS is real and #s matching much more desireable/valuable when done. Those two cars have certainly been molested though, and I have doubts aplenty.
February 1, 200719 yr That '69 looks good. To preserve a "plain jane" in her original state is admirable, but if that's not what you want, that's cool. Looking forward to seeing more candidates.
February 1, 200719 yr Yeah... I was going to comemnt on the 1969 one, does something look 'off' about that one?
February 1, 200719 yr Author Yeah... I was going to comemnt on the 1969 one, does something look 'off' about that one? Nope! That car is in extremely original condition, I even believe the miles on it. Trust me, I've looked at a ton of them and this one is very right - if a little plain.
