January 31, 200719 yr IS-F Production Limited to 1,000 We have some bad news for all Lexus fans. Subscribers to the AutoWeek magazine were probably disappointed to read a short blurb on the Lexus IS-F in the January 22, 2007 issue where the magazine reported that Toyota will be building only 1,000 Lexus IS-F sedans for the United States. Look at the bright side, you guys will be the lucky few to have the car and show it off to your fellow BMW M3 drivers. eGMCarTech
January 31, 200719 yr Is the IS-F that awesome that it only warrants one-thousand units? BMW's M-Series models and Mercedes' AMG are much more impressive. To me, BMW holds much more cachet than Lexus. If someone told me they had one of only 1,000 BMW's, I'd be impressed. But if someone told me they had one of 1,000 Lexus'... I'd probably laugh.
January 31, 200719 yr It's a great way for the Toyota PR department to say: 1. The IS-F is sold out for the year. 2. The IS-F is the most desirable <longest waiting list> premium sport sedan on the market. easier to track the purchasers and give them kid glove treatment and claim 3. Highest owner/driver satisfaction in the premium sport sedan market.
January 31, 200719 yr Is the IS-F that awesome that it only warrants one-thousand units? Even the current CTS-V has better numbers than the upcoming IS-F while looking better too.
January 31, 200719 yr Hey it does not say the time frame. I mean 1000 units/day or per month or per year? :AH-HA_wink:
January 31, 200719 yr Good, then there's very little chance I'll ever see one of these monstrosities running around on the street. Who cares what PR Lexus can report if there aren't any for sale.
February 1, 200719 yr Even the current CTS-V has better numbers than the upcoming IS-F while looking better too. I'm curious where'd you get CTS-V #'s?
February 1, 200719 yr V-Series production is roughly 10% of total production for the vehicles that have a V-Series model. The CTS-V was originally projected at 5k/units a year. I think the CTS does about 60k vehicles/year now, though.
February 1, 200719 yr Wrong. The limited production numbers Autoweek reported pertain to the LF-A, not the IS-F. Look for them to issue a correction adressing this in their next issue.

And thats the problem with alphanumerics. One can easily confuse them and next thing you know, misinformation spreads.
February 2, 200719 yr I'm curious where'd you get CTS-V #'s? Someone else pointed out sales numbers, but I was referring to power. Either way, CTS-V wins.
February 2, 200719 yr So the LISF-AF will only sell 1,000 per year? Or was it the IS-A? Or the LS-F? Or uhh... Prius-F? Ah who cares, just get an M5.
February 2, 200719 yr Eck. No stick, no deal. That's the way I see it. At the very least, offer a DSG-style system, not a conventional automatic.
February 2, 200719 yr f@#kERS What'chu smokin' Willis? So the LISF-AF will only sell 1,000 per year? Or was it the IS-A? Or the LS-F? Or uhh... Prius-F? Ah who cares, just get an M5.

February 2, 200719 yr Yes, we know Honda does not offer anything like these vehicles. What does Honda have to do with this thread? Insight Type R
February 6, 200719 yr Honestly, it's probably so they only have 1,000 recalls. I don't think that was a good idea. This will bump their recall rate much higher. 1000/1000 recalls = 100%.
February 6, 200719 yr What does Honda have to do with this thread? Insight Type R Then maybe Saturn should get an Aura Red-GreenLine. Or is it Blackline, since it's (Blue+Yellow= Green)+Red = Black?
