February 8, 200719 yr High School Offers Car To Student With Perfect Attendance SANTA ANA, Calif. -- Come to school, get a free car. That's the deal being offered by Santa Ana Unified School District, where students with perfect attendance can enter into a lottery to win a brand new Chevy Aveo, according to The Orange County Register. School officials said they hope dangling the keys to the $13,000 car donated by a local dealership will save the district money by curbing absenteeism. Santa Ana Unified is facing a $17 million budget deficit, and losses up to $40 in funding every day a student misses school. Some critics say the giveaway focuses parents' and students' attention on the prize, rather than on schoolwork. But parent Anabeth Pineda said the contest "can't hurt."
February 8, 200719 yr There are gonna be some epidemics at that school. I'll tell you that much. ROFLMAO!!!
February 8, 200719 yr They've been doing a similar deal around here for a few years, excep its always a new Kia. I have a feeling it'll be a Nissan Versa this year, since the dealership that sponsers it sells Chrysler/Kia/Nissan and Versas are piling up on their lot.
February 10, 200719 yr A few school around wyoming do this too. Excpet they usually give out slightly more expensive cars. Last year a Casper school gave out a 2006 Chevy Colorado and a Gilette school gave out an 06 Malibu...
