What do u guys think about the 2001-04 Tacomas? They look way better than the new ones.

CR liked them, and they weren't that bad either.

Ironically though... our neighbour owned one, yet he would always call us up for our Sierra when he needed to haul loads.

Dude, have you ever considered looking at something like an F-150 or Sierra/Silverado? Chances are, you could pick a used one up at a decent price.

Yeah, but they're a little too big for me and gas mileage will probably be lousy.

Do you live at the top of a hill?

What about a Dodge Dakota? Bigger and more copable than the other compacts but smaller and more nimble than the full sizers. Quite a looker too if you go with a used previous gen one.

Yeah, those look really good too. I like that 97-04 design much better than the new ones.

Get a Ranger.

I am a GM man (of course), but when a friend was selling his Ranger, he offered me a deal I couldn't pass up.

Admittedly biased against Ford's, I'll never forget the first time I worked on this thing. Is it a small truck? Yes. But it's built like a tank.

The current iteration has been around forever, so any kinks (not that there were really any to begin with), were worked out. Plus, you have the choice between an economical 4, or powerful 6.

I always liked the ranger, but I need a crew cab pickup though. I wish Ford would redesign the ranger and make a crew cab version.
