Reviews: 2007 Maserati Quattroporte Automatica

As Ronchi laughingly admits, the Automatica returns the Quattroporte to its roots, when an Italian car with an automatic transmission seemed almost futuristic. It helps Maserati get the attention of Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class drivers who might be looking for something fresh.

You could say the 2007 Maserati Quattroporte delivers the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, you'll have to buy both the Automatica and the DuoSelect versions to enjoy it to the max.

This has been one of my favorite autobiles since it was introduced, and IMO it's lost none of it's luster in the years since its introduction. Had I the means, I'd take on instantly over anything in it's price range.

the maserati makes a bmw seem like a poseur car to me, even. I love Masers.

I think this type of design is a great direction to take Buick style. Some of GM's cars had an Italian influence awhile ago. I could see a RWD type of sports sedan in the Buick stable with this type of flair.

worse still is costs about $60,000 too much.

And now, it is the only 4 door pseudo-sports car to be so

very damn proud of having an AUTOMATIC that they

include it in the name. I'd rather have a hole in my head.

Beautiful car. Italians can still design unlike most of Continental Europe.

I think it's gorgeous and voluptuous. The only thing I don't care for regarding the styling is the "lip" thing on the very front of its nose in the grille area.

It's better looking than any Bimmer.

They included automatic into the name of the car because it previously only had the automated manual, and as a luxury car, that didn't go over well, but the smoother automatic will.

For me, this is one of those cases where I would just have to have my Duo-Select transmission. To flip the paddles. To hear that Ferrari-derived V8 sing.

I've seen one in person ever, and it was in Coldwater here pulling out of a restaurant .

It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard coming from a car like that.
