I bet even Knightfan didn't know about this Monte Carlo...

Its a 1976 Custom Cloud. Apparently...

In 1976 a company in Florida called CUSTOM CLOUD was making kits to be installed by Chevrolet dealers that turned a Monte Carlo into a two door Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. There were about 200 kits made and less than 130 were installed. In 1976 Rolls Royce got a court order and a cease and desist injunction against Custom Cloud for making the kits and the Chevy dealers installing them and that all existing kits be destroyed, making the Custom Cloud one of the rarest cars on the road today. This car has been garaged and pampered all its life. It has only 67,000 original miles. What makes this car so special is all the original documentation that's comes with it. The car was appraised in 2001 for $25,000 and has been going up in value since then. It is currently insured for $28,500.

And for fun, the court case.

I've seen this before and remember the story, so I'd bet a fair amount that Knightfan has too.

Terrible looking thing!

It's very odd, to say the least.

It's better than that Camaro conversion kit.

Looks MUCH better than a REAL R.R. I like it. If I ever found one I'd drive it all over

God's paved earth and evrytime someone complemented me on my R.R. I'd get

VERY insulted and say that my Monte Carlo Silver CLoud is NOT some piece of $hit

British car.... what in INSULT.

*chuckles*

And you'd win that "fair amount" ;).

Yes, I do know about the Custom Cloud MCs ... not sure if I'd own one or not, though it would definitely be a conversation starter.....
