Saturday 17 February 2007

In Genève Opel still unknown concept car will present. Teaser have been meanwhile spread by Opel, but what kind of type model it goes continues guess only. We suspect that it concerns here a voorbode of the new Vectra or new Omega.

My translation: In Geneva, Opel will unveil a new, unidentified concept car. Meanwhile, Opel has sent out this teaser photo, but one can only guess one what it is. We suspect that it is the replacement for the new Vectra or new Omega.

------

On the photograph only one couple is see lines of the conceptcar. Some that from that finished can are be led that it concerns sedanachtige a car. Our presumption goes thus strongly from to conceptcar which a voorbode will be for a continuator for the Vectra or the Omega. Especially the Vectra seem very realistic.

In the photograph, only the outline of the concept car is visible. ????? 2nd sentence ?????. We guess that this concept car will be very close to the next generation Vectra or the Omega. Though, the Vectra seems like a much more realistic guess.

------

The model came in 2002, on the market and became in 2005 gefacelift. To assume we an average life cycle six years, then it is very well conceivable that there in 2008, new Vectra are in preparation. Moreover Opel have earlier already indicated that the Vectra will be replaced by a completely new model, under a new name. Probably the name Insignia will be used for that. Anyhow, in Genève we will know more.

Assuming the average life cycle for the car is six years, it is very conceivable that there is a 2008 Vectra in development. Additionally, Opel has already indicated that the Vectra will be replaced by a completely new model, under a new name. Insignia is most likely the name to be used. In Geneva, we will know more.

Just going by the bit of the headlights that are visible and the wheel flares, it looks similar to the Commodore/G8.

Last time I checked, Opel Insignia will be on Epsilon II. Considering we haven't seen a concept based on EPSII, the fender flares may be misleading.

Those fender flares do seem Commodore-ish...

I think Opel will be showing the Insignia, though: the Vectra successor is an important model, and GM needs to show something solid to counter the novelty effect of the Mondeo.

Well here is the 2003 concept, do you think it fits the outline?

would be great place to start with a buick.

That doesn't inspire me at all....if Opel wants to get anywhere in Europe, Insignia better have the styling of the elegant 2003 concept car or else they'll continue to trail Renault and Ford and the others in the styling department.

Behind Renault? Surely you jest. Renault's designs are so boring and derivative, save for the wildly absurd Vel Satis. Citroen is arguably the French styling leader here with Peugoet a close second.

Maybe my guess was right. WCF posted something about the Omega returning, and this could be it. Opel Zeta revisited.

This site does pretty good on all types.

That would make a great Saturn! Are you listening GM?
