Suzuki has released official images of its SX4 sedan, ahead of its debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show. The new sedan is based on the 4WD SX4 SUV, but will come with front-wheel-drive only. Under the hood will be a 1.6L gasoline engine developing 107hp (79kW), and its developers have stated that there will be no diesel option. However, US delivered models could possibly get a more powerful V6 version with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The SX4 sedan shares the same front-end styling as the SX4 SUV model, while the interior is decked out in anthracite coal tones. The car will be in showrooms towards the end of the year. Suzuki will also display the SX4 Sedan Sport Concept that's powered by a 2.0L motor and rides on 17in alloys.

A third SX4 based model, the WRC competition car that Suzuki will use to enter the 2008 WRC will also making a showing in Geneva, as well as the Swift Sport Rallye edition.

front & back look ok, but from the side it looks awkwardly proportioned. And what's with the little windows up front?

Cuter than the new Aveo sedan.

That's one strange looking little car. Where's the Swift sedan?

It looks quite heidious from the sides.

.....and I thought the Suzuki Aerio sedan looked wierd.....

This is almost as bad as the new Nissan Versa sedan......

Where have I seen those taillights before? They look like something else that debuted lately, I just can't think of what...

Oh ya, and this car is ugly.

Ew. I like the hatchback a lot...this however is ugly and awkwardly proportioned.

The SX4 translates poorly into a sedan. I think it's the A pillar that's causing that... Cause the rest of it isn't all that bad. Looks good as a hatchback, though.

Nissan Sentra?

You know I always thought that was the nose, not the tail. We must drive differently down under.

this is why i need at least 2 coffees in the morning before i reply to posts :pokeowned:

I would agree that it looks better as a hatch and that the little sail windows are probably the cause of its oddness.

Overall, I don't mind it at all. It IS a little better looking than the Aveo and this does have AWD, but the Aveo is undoubtedly a bit more efficient.

My vote?

Stick with the hatch.

WTF is up with these cheesy and ANTI-practical front 1/4 windows....???

They do not vent, you can't see $#it through them and they just end up

mking for an extra thick A-pillar with a freekin slit.
