huh. so there is no problem according to honda, but we'll settle it anyhow? with their deep pockets they could have easily won this case IF there was no merit to it. makes one wonder...

Which means my CPO TSX will have warranty that will expire at 65,000 miles instead of 62,000 WOW. I am SOOOO excited :pbjtime: (sarcasm)

"No odometer is going to be perfect," says Honda spokesman Chris Martin.

Then why are Detroit brands "by and large, perfect." In this day and age, odometers should be nearly flawless...it's not like it's some super complex technology. Honda with its 'superior engineering prowess' should at least be able to install an odometer that functions properly.

They aren't necessarily. The lawyers involved in the case targeted Honda with the lawsuit, and Honda settled. That shows that the Honda odometers weren't entirely accurate (as they admit). That doesn't mean the lawyers couldn't have batted a blind eye towards other makes. Maybe James Holmes doesn't like Honda's or Nissan's. I would be convinced if I saw an EPA study using a large selection of new cars from every make, with official posted results.

The lawyer, James Holmes of Henderson, Texas, says he's tested Toyotas ™ and, oddly, found them to routinely register slightly fewer miles than actually driven. Detroit brands, he says, "by and large are perfect."

Does anyone know if this guy posted results from his testing?

I said it before and I'll say it again. This lawsuit is retarded.

The lawsuit is NOT retarded... Ralph Nader's U.A.A.S. was stupid for attributing

accidents to colored dashboards, rear engined design & other unrelated stuff

and yet that was taken seriously. With any luck this will damage HondAcura's

reputation and cost them sales.

Satty, That book is not even on sale. Pathetic! :nono:

It was published nearly a decade ago, so its not going to be in current print. And Honda sales didn't exactly slump after the book came out.
