So my car, which is normally red, is some sort of brown color now. It needs a bath. Currently it is 58 degrees outside, but the wind is blowing up to 40mph. I dont see any reason this wont be fun.

Just gave it a quick handjob. I used everybody's least favorite item, the Mr. Clean Autodry thingy (I just used it for the filtered water) and didn't bother waxing it this time. I love my local automatic touchless car wash. It sprays the underbelly and tires as you roll in, then it does a very good job of cleaning that hard-to-remove layer of grime that usually sticks in other automatic washes.

Nah, more an issue with a steep incline and a bunch of ice. The guy in the Tundra had a problem getting traction as well. There were a couple of patches of pavement, the last one near enough the crest of the hill that he was able to push me up and over. That was a fun night.

Anytime I run by a car lot or look through the classifieds, I see another car that would have run about the same $ as the Fusion that I would have liked so much better but that option for whatever reason when I was buying.

Yeah, the Shell station has an underbelly wash that you can get depending on how much you pay. I've been washing my car pretty ritualistically on every fill up to keep it clean. Today though the tough-free dryer was screwed up and didn't turn on until the car was halfway past the blowers...had to dry it myself.

The Prizm, if it ever gets out of teh shop (it's back again) needs one and so does the Shadow...really, really bad.

I have not once gotten stuck or slid in my FWD Millenia... with nearly bald tires at that in one of the biggest storms we've had in years. Course... I don't drive it much in the winter anyways.

My car is still a hell of a lot less ghetto than a 20 year old Datsun. The Fusion isn't a bad car by any means, it just isn't the Solara (which was awesome) and isn't a Mini or a Wrangler.

And the rear-biased vehicle had plenty of problems getting up the hill himself, it was, after all, a nearly impassible sheet of ice with no snow on top to get traction on. I made it about halfway up the hill before the momentum I had gained from one of the clear spots was negated by the fact that my tires were spinning. If my car had been RWD I probably wouldn't have made it that far because while the front wheels would have been over the dryish spot at the bottom of the hill, the rear (powered) wheels would have been over a huge sheet of ice.

Ice sucks. As my defensive driving instructor said, it doesn't matter how many drive wheels you have when ice is involved. You can either have your front wheels slip, your back whee;s slip, or all of them slip.

Sorry about the scratch, Satty. If you want to ghetto-fix it, get a matching bottle of touch-up from Ford, fill in the areas with paint, building it up with each coat. Then, wetsand and compound it yourself. Cost to you, <$20.

Thanks for the advice, I dont even want to bother with ghetto fixing it right now. Honestly, unless the car is spotless clean (like it was when I took the pic) you really cant notice it.

Hmmm.... Ford Fusion or Toyota Tundra? I'm not a fan of either but I might go for the Toyota

based on the BOF, RWD & V8 power. The Ford does not appeal to me at all. It's not even at

all appealing to me cosmetically. Looks like a riced out Jetta.
