The Saga Continues!

Here we go again. So they replaced both the master and slave clutch cylinders. It worked good...for about a week. Saturday night while I was delivering I started having problems. I would have the clutch all the way in and the car sounded like it was going to stall when it was at as stop and in first (like if you were taking the clutch off without giving it gas). It wouldn't come out of gear either...and when I tried to go it would lurch forward and stall. It did this to be like 10 times, and when I got stuck being stalled horizontally in the middle of a main road I had enough. It's like it's gonna kill me one of these times! So I go home and get the Shadow...which made a much better companion for the remainder or the delivery, and Sunday.

So this morning we took it to the shop to have it looked at. an hour ago I called them and they said the part they put in, which is aftermarket, doesn't seem to be doing the job, so they have to order in a factory cylinder. They had me take it home since it may not be in for a couple of days. I got it home but there's like no feeling to the clutch. On the bright side I don't think I'll be charged for this...but still it's annoying as hell <_<

Sounds like you need to dump that car. How many miles

do you guys have on it these days? I've bought cars for

the equivelant of a couple of your last repairs that have

lasted me for several months without any repairs.

I love hearing stories of great toyota quality. Especially knowing that our 390k+ miles trashed on Roach I never had an issue.

Really though, sorry to hear about your troubles.

You know, if the shop that you installed the aftermarket cylinder says that the one that's on there is a dud, why not get another. I know, as a parts guy, unforunately we get bad parts in straight out of the box. That's the breaks of having 100s of parts come in on a daily basis.

They are replaceing the part no charge when it gets in. Until then we've got 3 people and 2 working cars...both Dodges...non reliable my ass :P

Heh. Our Sienna is having a few problems as well. Something about the fuel injection not working properly, meaning the engine is way underpowered.

Last time we listen to Consumer Reports...

booyah, possibly a problem with the fuel pressure regulator allowing too much fuel to go back to the tank, which would cause the injectors to not fire at full psi, causing massive power loss.

There was some computer jargon thrown in with what the guys at the Toyota shop said about our problem, but it sounds like what you said seems to be the gist of it.

It's not really my business. My mom drives it, do my Dad's supposed to be on top of it, but he really hates dealing with the motor. The van has kept a pretty good residual value, and it'll likely be replaced in two years or so with something from a Domestic... perhaps a Chrysler product brought to us by GM :AH-HA_wink:.
