Mine was the Corvette, be it its design, power, handling or even just the name, I've always had a deep down love and respect for the Corvette.

The Viper.

The 1969 Pontiac Custom-S. This was a one model year car, which makes it one of the rarest A bodies Pontiac made. It was replaced in 1970 by the Pontiac T-37. As my wife claims, I love that car more than I do her!

Now they are both mine!

Not old enough to drive yet, but as a kid, I saw the 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme or Cutlass Salon coupe....and that was it! I would walk to the local dealership (6 blocks from the house) and get the brochures and dream/drool. They knew me.

Ideally, it would be Persimmon Metallic (basically rust) with a white landau, tan corduroy bucket seats and color keyed rally wheels. Under the hood, the small block Oldsmobile Rocket 260 V8 would silently propel this car.

An obsession ... and love! My parents would roll their eyes.

Chevrolet Beretta. C'mon, I was four...

My first classic that I fell in love with was the '69 Camaro. There's just something about the stylistic changes made that year that set it off. I know many agree with me on that.

1979 Ford Mustang. Back in 1978 when I was 10 years old, I had a great awakening when my dad went truck shopping and bought a Ford F150. I had never paid attention to cars before. The new Mustang seemed incredibly modern at that time.

I guess it was my parents' new '66 Malibu SS 396 in Marina Blue.

first car I fell in love with?

When I was 3 years old my grandmother had a 1979 Olds Custom Cruiser diesel. I loved the "wacka wacka" sound when it was running. It was my job to tell her when the "Wait to Start" light was out.

First car I fell in love with and said I'd own one day? 1994 Cutlass Supreme Convertible.

First car I fell in love with was a late 80s Cavalier wagon we had... I cried my eyes out when they turned it in for a... fricking Caravan.

But first car I ever really longed for was a third gen Camaro.

IIRC, the first car I fell hard for was a '58 Cadillac Series 75 limousine- parked, dusty and unloved, under a long carport with other flotsam & jetsam. My school bus passed it everyday. Lovely fluid flanks & graceful shark fins; it sparked a life-long appreciation for Cadillac, and accordingly, it was the very first Nat'l Geo ad I sliced free, starting what would become a circa 4500-piece print ad collection.

The first car I was really in love with was the first car I ever owned, a '64 Pontiac GP Sport Coupe, triple Starlight Black, buckets/console, Trophy 389.

I was not really influenced by the specific cars I grew up around- I invariably gravitate towards cars older than that & older than me.

As a kid in the mid '70s, I fell in love with my dad's '69 Mustang..the fastback styling ('Sportsroof'), shark nose, width, etc, the rumbly exhaust, the speed...I just love the look of the '69/70 Mustangs.

That car has been in my family since new--I helped my folks restore it in the mid '80s, and it passed from my father to my mom and it's now mine (stored at my mom's place in Ohio with my '87 Mustang GT). I'd like to get a '70 Mach 1 to go with it..

Mine was my parent's '74 Monte Carlo that they got new when I was 2 and sold when I was 6. I just loved the massive front end, the grille and basically everything about it. We also had a '77 Cutlass Supreme Brougham which existed with the Monte for 1 year. Liked that a lot too, but the Monte was "mine."

Fiero. The first time I ever saw one, I thought it was a Ferrari. I was about 10. Eventually found out it was a Pontiac and longed for one even more. Still my favorite car and will likely snatch up a 1988 GT with a 5spd if I ever come across one for less than $2.5k

A blue 65 or later Corvair cpe in a parking lot when I was 3 or 4. It was LONG SLEEK and BEAUTIFUL like a SHARK on weels!

My dad owned a service/tire center in the '60s and we always had old wrecks in the back of our farmhouse. I used to play (mostly jumping up and down on the roof - try that on any new car these days!) of a cream and white Plymouth Fury. I used to love pushing the buttons (something I am still good at doing with my partner!) of the tranny. NOt sure if it was a '57 or '58, but I fell in love with all cars with fins, even though it was 1966 and fins were long gone.

The first car I fell in love with was the 1951 Buick LeSabre Dream (concept) Car.

At the same time Buick came out with the XP300 concept, my second favorite.

Then they built a limited production car the 1953 Buick Skylark.

If I were to win the lottery, the first car I would buy is a '53 Skylark.

With all my love for Buicks, I've never owned one.

Probably the first car I laid eyes on. My mother will tell you that this stuff started VERY early with me. When it came time to hunt for my second car, All I had eyes for was an El Camino. There was a pristine '72 SS at a local gas station that had been garage kept that I wanted sooooo bad. My father vetoed that one, so when I went looking again, I left him out of the process. I found a black 454SS El Camino and it was all over, I decided that I would own that car at all costs. And so it happened.

As a young kid growing up in Europe... Porsche 911 Turbo.

After we moved to the USA in the late 80s: 1969 Camaro.

The final year of the Lincoln Mark VIII. In all black.

Pontiac Trans-Am. In black. Loved them after seeing Smokey & the Bandit, reinforced by Knight Rider. Almost bought a final year one, but just didn't have the cash. Someday I will have one, but anymore, there is a long list

Dodge Daytona.

It just caught my eye when I was younger, and the IROC R/T versions kick ass! The closest I've come to a Daytona was its technical "platform mate" J-body (Daytonas were G-Bodies) K-Derived LeBaron Convertible.

That's right. As a 13 year-old, my most desired car was a 1998 Oldsmobile Regency. I really don't know why. It just was.

The first car I fell in love with as a young man was my Aurora. Thank God she wasn't too expensive.

Riviera... 79-85 model, and it HAD to be white with a white landau top or just plain painted roof. I wished that someone could have bought one for me, and saved it in a garage until I was old enough to drive it. Well, nobody did... I did look at one once (not white, blue), and test drove a Toronado which I would rather have now. Also, strangely enough I had a thing for the Pontiac Parisienne with the slotted Caprice shaped tail lights.

94-97 Chrysler LHS/New Yorker back when I was about 7 or 8.....it is the first car I remember ever noticing and liking. Lets just say my tastes have changed since then.

Wow... you're makin' me feel old. I loved the '94 LHS/New Yorker too, especially the roofline. It was so formal, but not ...

Thinking about this in a bit more detail, the first car I really remember liking was the 73 Caprice/Impala. I couldn't have been more than three or four, and at the point when I started noticing them and just picturing myself riding in one... in the back seat even. I also liked the '72 Cutlass Supreme with the two rows of square tail lights, and the early 80s Cutlass sedans with the tail lights divided into squares. 82/83 Century, 78/79 Delta 88 for their tail light shapes. I also liked the Lincoln Mark VI with the tire hump (the first car I ever tried drawing, think I still have it somewhere). I was always most fascinated with the rear styling of most cars (guess you could say I was an "ass man" :AH-HA_wink: ) Back in the days before composite headlights, the tail light shapes were the most unique part of the car for me. I could pick out most cars by seeing the tail lights illuminated at night by the time I was 9 or 10. One exception to my rear ends was the undercut nose of the '86+ Buick Century.

After all that, I think the Riv was still the first car I wanted to own/drive.

Well, Pontiac had me with the Trans Ams by the late '80s, and I sweated the '91 GTA's at the local dealership during the summer of 1990 (one salesman even asked if I wanted to trade in my 12-speed bike for one - I was up there all the time looking at them). However, around the same time I also developed a love for GMC trucks, and the Syclone has definitely ranked up there since then. If I had the cash and an all-original, very low mileage example were to be had, my garage would have a Syclone in there ASAP. Of course nowadays my dream car is my SKY, and it will be one year old next month and my love for it has not gone down at all.

I always loved the ridiculously fast exotic supercars, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette, Viper, Porsche. Those and the super luxury cars like Aston Martin, Bentley, and BMW. I still do like all those cars but I'd have to win the lottery to own one now.

The first realistic vehicle would probably have been a Chevy Pickup. My father bought one in '95 (still has it 265,000 miles later)now I am on my second Silverado as I just traded my 2005 for a 2007 this past Monday

1976 Monte Carlo.

My parents bought it when I was 3 years old ... replacing Dad's old 1968 Impala SS.

A few weeks after they bought the '76 MC, I was pointing at other MCs and saying "arlo".

Over the years, that car became "mine". When I was old enough ... that car got a weekly car wash EVERY Saturday morning. I'd get up early just to wash it. In 1984, my parents replaced it ... very very very sad day indeedy.
