The Side Project

Featured Replies

B&BL and I just got back with the '77 Chevelle wagon I was talking about.

Pics in a little while.

You must have a pretty big barn!

What are the plans for the wagon? Drop in the drivetrain from the El Camino, pull the exhaust/headers and wheels, give it a Maaco paint job and flip it for crate motor money?

I like those wheels for Camino project.

That's basically the plan, though some of the details may change.

And yeah, the barn is pretty big. But, I need to get some of the cars gone VERY soon.

Nice find! Aside from the R/F door, the body looks in fantastic shape. What are the specs on the drivetrain in this one?

Interesting thought - Would that rear bumper fit on a Camino and clear the tailgate hinges?

i wish i just had a simple garage :banghead:

but congrats on another cool purchase!

continue with the updates

Yeah, the body is really good and the interior is even better (pics later)

No drivetrain in it now, it had a crate motor that the guy wanted for his truck.

You read my mind on the bumper: Yes, they are interchangeable.

Good find and good plan to move things forward with your El Camino.

That inside looks fantastic. There doesn't look to be a mini-Grand Canyon bisecting the dash. It's almost a shame to have to flip this. I wonder if it's feasible to swap the parts car bash, even though it's cracked, for this one and just dye it the color of your choice.

Thanks, I just hope I can avoid liking this car too much - it already is growing on me.

The parts car dash is the same color as this one and only has the one large crack. This one has a few smaller cracks, but neither of them is good enough to dye for the Camino.

Looks good, would make an excellent sleeper. No one would expect a wagon to hand them their ass.

SHHH!

Don't tempt me!

Sweet wagon, Camino... nice hauler for the pups!

Now cut that out!

I wish I had a paint booth, it would make all of these projects sooo much easier to do.

Thanks,Ocn.

They seem to like it!

Or, at least the left front tire. :AH-HA_wink:

Cool wagon. Now you just need to pimp it out into a nice 'Shaggin Wagon'... :P

Nice wagon. Maybe drop in a 454? Then go pick on the little tuner cars and eat them alive

That would be fun. :scratchchin:

NO!

Must..... resist!

Now Camino, you know, down deep in your heart of hearts, your mind is already thinking of all the possibilities for the wagon. You may as well give in, come on, you know it will feel good. Just go out in the barn and touch it, just once, and then tell me with a straight face that you haven't waited all your life to play this way.

Come on, you know you want to, Camino....all the cool kids are doin' it

More power!!!!!!

You know you wanna.

(Aren't we all bad?)

Sweet!

I've always wanted one of those.

My Dad had one when I was little...black with woodgrain panels...

I loved that car.....

That's my kind of project car...

Camino. 454, 900-ish cfm carb strapped to the top of it. T56 transmission swap, tub out the rear end.....you know, just add a little power. And you know you can't resist this. It IS the ultimate sleeper.

Well, I've all but decided to let it keep its headers and duals. They are in good shape, but a bit to ugly to put on the Camino.

No matter what eventually happens with the wagon, it will start out with the engine & trans from the Camino - and soon!
