Hey all, I'm new to the site and I have a question and I don't know if I'm posting in the right thread but my dad has an Equinox and we recently encountered a stain on the back seat and we used ToughStuff and others to remove the stain but the fabric in the Equinox only made the stain bigger with every type of cleaner we used, does any body know how to clean this fabric the right way? .... btw sorry if this is in the wrong thread

Welcome, 2chevs. This is a good spot for this kind of thread. Hopefully someone can help you out.

Where do you live?

I live in Long Island, my dad said if worse comes to worse we might just have to have to go to a professional because he also wants to see if they can touch up our center-stack with silver paint because its peeling (its a late 2004 05 m.y) due to wear n' tear.

Welcome 2chevs!

BTW, who spilled what while doing what on the "Backseat"? :AH-HA_wink:

You should be able to get the dealership to get new trim pieces if the paint is peeling off. We got a new stereo unit once because the paint was peeling off.

Haha... yeahh our radio buttons are peeling to, even in our 06 Malibu (I will probably post some pictures of them when they both get their next baths)... and for that stain haha no one was doing anything, I left a bottle of water that wasn't completely closed and it leaked a bit, i was shocked that water stained the seat.

Have you tired steam cleaning it with a Bissel or Hoover or something? Perhaps something at a self-serve carwash.

I have a 2005 Equinox LT and it did the same thing, GM replaced the center-stack under warranty along with the door handles just last month. Also welcome to C&G.

Thanks a lot for all your help, were just gonna bring it back to the dealer for both trim pieces and the stain, being it is their product they should know what to do.... hopefully haha.
