PICS of my new Pontiac Grand Prix GXP

Featured Replies

The color is Purple Haze, and yes I have Jimi Hendrix on as I drive! :smilewide: My friend took these pics because I'm all thumbs! The river in the background in most of these is the Delaware River, you know the one that George Washington crossed. Hope you enjoy!

So that's what purple haze looks like. Better than I expected. :P

Well, good luck with it. What matters most is how you like it, not how I like it. Atleast it's a nice color and can outrun most anyone who tries to diss it. :D

What's the dial behind the shifter?

nice car BTW

It's the HUD dial to move the HUD up or down or to make it brighter or darker and to change it's functions.

That's a good looking, genuine Pontiac, Mr. S.

Sweet! :)

Gotta get ya one of these:

That's a great color, I've noticed they often look black in the right low light. Did you have a look at the PFYC.com taillight covers I linked for you in your other thread? Lots of other cool stuff there for you.

So, how many miles on it now? By way of setting a standard, when I bought my GTP new in July 1995, I put 300 miles on in 3 days, then drove it from Chicago to the Badlands of South Dakota and back. You know, just a little shakedown cruise to seat the piston rings and such. I expect to see some serious mileage on this bad-dog, young man! Enjoy!!

Nice. Very nice. Very very nice. Good move on securing one with a HUD.

Yes Mach5GTP, I did look at PFYC, I like what I saw there. I have 200 miles on it in 3 days. I love the way it sounds as I drive along.

Thanks for the kind words Fly!

Well, it's definitely not the color I was expecting to see you get. It's a great looking car with a unique color. I wish you nothing but fun with it during your ownership. That HUD is one cool feature, and I'm still disappointed with GM for not making it available on more of it's vehicles (we had it on our 2000 Grand Prix GT sedan).

The one picture with the Wilmington plant in the background - that is the Kappa plant, right? I'll be there on May 19 with the Solstice/SKY Forum group for a plant tour. Can't wait!

Yep, that's the Kappa plant (Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Opel GT), I took that pic with you in mind in front of the plant, since I was off yesterday (Good Friday). That's where one of my offices is located, but I am rarely there since I travel so much to other GM sites.

Here is Daewoo's version.

Enjoy your plant tour GMTruckGuy74, let me know if they have Hotdogs for you at the end of the plant tour. :smilewide:

Now that you got yours, I've seen a ton of them on the road yesterday (1 white, 1 dark red/cherry, 1 stealth gray and 2 black)! They do hold a unique presence on the road and I think they're much better looking than the regualr GP (I still don't like the rear taillight design though). Your color must be a rare color - I've never seen one on the road or on a dealer's lot.

Not too sure what the deal is with the plant tour; the organizer is keeping a tight lid on the day's events. All I know is that there is your choice of either a 6:45 AM or 7:45 AM tour (1.5 hours), and then of course all the SKYs and Solstices parked outside in a car show-type of deal. Does the plant give many tours to outsiders? Is there a gift shop? I ask because two years ago I took a tour of the MACK truck plant outside of Allentown, PA and they had a gift shop there (I had to load up on some MACK collectibles!). You should stop by that day and see all of us owners return to the "birthplace" of our babies. I'd also like to see your car in person.

Yes, I've seen a few pictures of the Daewoo version before. More Opel GT than SKY, but those both originated off the SKY (as you well enough know!). Have they started to produce the Daewoo version yet? Anything you can tell me that I should look for in the tour? As you can probably tell, I'm very excited about this tour and can't wait!

Anyway, back to your GXP. You'll have to get a picture of it and your Custom-S together and post them here.

Great looking car and the color is growing on me. I am SO jealous have many worry free miles sir. That is one darn sharp GP you got.

Thank you one and all for your kind words. I have almost 300 miles on it in almost a week. Sorry it took until Friday to get the pics up, but last week was a busy one for me.

GMTruckGuy74, if they give you a tour through the Bodyshop, look around and tell me if you see why these cars are not being produced at a faster rate than they are, the answer is in the Bodyshop. :smilewide:

Welcome to the GXP club. Ive had mine a year as of this weekend. Still love it.

Olds Guy, didn't you post pictures of your car when you bought it? Isn't it Blue-Green Crystal?

Voila! Les fotos sont ici! J'ai retourne' hier de Portland ou j'ai vu beaucoup de Subarus pleines de femmes avec les cheveux courtes....vous savez cette espece.

Ok, back to the car.

The pic I chose above is very flattering to the coupe-like styling despite being a sedan.

That dashboard kicks ass. I've rented at least 10 of these, so I've sat behind that dash for at least 7,000 miles and I like it!

Had a rented Monte Carlo for the weekend...still don't know what the hell to do. :scratchchin:

CONGRATULATIONS!

Je les sais bien! Quant à la voiture, merci beaucoup. :smilewide:
