Then they wrote something about how it would make the Blue Devil pointless, but I didn't think that BS was worth posting.

Yeah, but I'm guessing they re-tuned it after they did that. Or, maybe you can underrated an engine if you want to. I suppose the test could have said 547HP or something and they decided they'd just say 505HP for whatever reason.

doesnt mean they have to advertise it correctly... as long as it has as much power as it advertises... if it has more toodles...

True, it doesn't mean they have to advertise it as such. But, then why make a big stink about testing with the new SAE system, then fudge the #'s anyway. I'm not saying I don't like GM under-rating their engines, they did it with the LS1 too... it's just funny they would do it after making such a big deal about the new test they used to get those numbers.

I get your point, but that's a terrible example. The Ariel Atom would whoop the Z06 and i'm pretty sure it makes well under 400 hp.

yeah... which means that it's not a knock on GM if a car with less hp beats the Z06, unless of course it is something in direct competition with it... but we all know that isn't gonna happen! B)

Maybe it is just de-tuned and not under-rated to 505 from a higher horsepower number. :CG_all:
