2007 Saturn Aura Green Line (Autoweek)

"The third model in the Aura line mates the best sedan in the brand’s history to a more efficient drivetrain than the 200-plus-hp 3.5- and 3.6-liter V6s found in Aura XE and XR models and gives buyers an alternative to hybrid versions of Toyota’s Camry, Honda’s Accord and Nissan’s Altima. Each of those competitors is more powerful than the Aura, but the Saturn’s base price is more than $2,000 less than the Nissan, the next-cheapest hybrid sedan on the market."

It's a fair review.. the Aura Green Line is nothing special, but it does get the job done with some savings in the fuel department, and allowing GM to say they have a hybrid to compete with the Camry. It should have had the 6-speed mated to the 2.4L... it might get it next year since there will be a 6-speed offered with the 2.4L in the Malibu LTZ.

Here's one tick in the Aura GL's favor - absolutely minimal loss of truck space. In fact, you still get a full 60/40-split folding seatback. More later...
