April 27, 200718 yr Alright, yes I know it seems I've been slacking on getting the last and final trivia question posted... between buying my '59 Buick, getting going on the valvejob on my Super 88, dropped the heads off at the machine shop just this after noon, & trying to get my eBay store going again after dropping the ball for about a year.... Anyway the point is here's something I whipped up today for you guys, it's pretty easy for the Mopar fans here... so I think. Which one of these cars is NOT a product of the Chrysler Corporation? Only one of these cars is NOT a Mopar, if only by name.
April 27, 200718 yr Well, "F" is a Mercury Monarch. I haven't seen one of those (two-tone blue in your pic) Charger Daytonas in like forever. My mom had a '77 Charger, dark blue/light blue landau roof/white vinyl with blue carpet interior with a 318. A. Chrysler 300 B. Dodge Challenger C. Chrysler Imperial D. Dodge Mirada E. Chrysler New Yorker F. Mercury Monarch G. Chrysler Cordoba H. Dodge Charger Daytona Edited April 27, 200718 yr by ocnblu
April 28, 200718 yr I used to have a '76 Mercury Monarch... My first car. It was A) slow (6 cyl, not that the 8 was fast) B) ugly (the scourge of rust) C) unreliable (sold it when it started breaking down about every other week.) D) uncomfortable in anything but perfect weather (heat & AC didn't work, and manual windows) E) inefficient (don't think I measured it, but it was bad...) ... and I loved it. First cars are like that.
April 28, 200718 yr Author A few years ago I bought a 1979 Ford Granada 2-door for $35. I drove it around a bit, & I was getting ready to demolition derby the beast, I saw no redeming value in it. Even the BOF & RWD did not make it appealing to me. It was one of the worst handeling cars I've ever owned, My full size 1959 Buick, 1964 Olds & 195,000 miles 1968 Camaro all felt like BMWs with track tunned suspension compared to that old POS Ford. Anyway I ended up frying my MSD box on the Camaro about a month before the burnout contest (Worcester Summer Nats) so I decided to take the Granada instead. The car commited suicide on the way to Worcester, at 70mph it was screaming for dear life on Rt.290 and the oil pump ended up $h!ting the bed. That old stright six basically put a gun in its mouth. I pulled off after the car stalled, popped the hood and as I undid the wingnut for the telltale white noxious smoke poured out of the intake & carb. I ended up driving my other beater, the 1983 Firebird with a crate 350 meant for a truck, and doing the burnout contest in that instead. (sold the Firebird that night for $700) Still have the hood ornament & jack off that ugly old Granada. I sold to a guy who had it impounded and it was crushed. Too bad in a way, it really would have made for a good demolition derby car, not meant to be I guess.
July 17, 200718 yr OMG! THAT is your MoPar trivia??? How about first 1hp per cubic inch for a domestic car- optional in the model line...? How about first 1hp per cubic inch for a domestic car standard for a model line....?
July 17, 200718 yr B looks like a Grand Am, and that's really not a good thing for the Challenger name.

OK, yer right! Is that a 1960 Buick in your pic?
July 18, 200718 yr Sig car is a '59. Off the top of my head, it's either the 361 or the 383 that was shared across the B/RB families. Edited July 18, 200718 yr by balthazar
July 18, 200718 yr 383 cubes it was! 4.25 x3.38 and 4.03 x 3.75 (SBC stroker guys notice the RB version?) When Nascar banned the 426 Hemi soon after it debuted Richard Petty went racing elsewhere. Do you know what he went racing in? Which racing venue?
July 18, 200718 yr Not a big racing fan. I recall this only vaguely: Petty left Mopar for 1 year, then returned (Hemi was initially banned after '64 & I know he had a '66 Belvedere). Don't recall to what he defected to.... was it Ford?

July 19, 200718 yr He went Drag racing. YUP!!!!!! That he did! Do you know what he raced, or what infamous event happened while he was drag racing?
July 20, 200718 yr I think he raced a Barracuda and got into an accident with it, killing someone. Correct again. Outlawed, the 43jr car, which went into the crowd and killed an 8 year old spectator. I don't think Richard drag raced again.
