April 28, 200718 yr Welcome to Sketch Competition #17! Its never too early to start thinking about the future. Well, maybe its a little early in this case, but there's nothing wrong with it at all. In the near future, the Saturn division will boast a lineup of very modern, very recent products through which it can establish itself as a full-line auto brand. However, of what concrete information we know, there may very well be a few holes in their lineup that could be filled; what fills it is a mystery. You, however, can fill in that gap.Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to design a vehicle that you feel Saturn needs but doesn't make. Keep in mind your entry should augment - not replace a current or near-future Saturn product. For example, don't design a 3-door Astra, but do consider and Astra sedan, an AURA convertible, or light pickup. Even a Corsa-based subcompact or SKY hardtop coupe is fair game. Bodystyle and car, truck, SUV, or van is up to you as long as its different from what Saturn is making now. Its highly-encouraged that your sketch include at minimum 2 (two) of the following:-3/4 Front View-3/4 Rear View-Interior View Remember, people will be voting based on the overall presentation of your entry, so the more views, the better, including ones not specifically listed above. Also, if you want to include special features, by all means point them out!Aside from 800x600 size guidelines, remember this must be a GM vehicle. The winner will recieve a GM-related prize!Deadline is Tuesday, May 15th @ 11:59PM your local time.Good luck!
May 1, 200718 yr They already have an Astra sedan, and considering they brought the hatches over with no real changes... Btw, can we chop things for these or does it have to be all original?
May 1, 200718 yr They already have an Astra sedan, and considering they brought the hatches over with no real changes... Btw, can we chop things for these or does it have to be all original? It's not a chop contest, Its a drawing contest. It can be drawn in photoshop or some other program though........
May 5, 200718 yr Author Correct. It can be computer-generated, but the key thing to remember is it must be an original piece, not a modification (chop).
May 7, 200718 yr Remember, people will be voting based on the overall presentation of your entry, so the more views, the better, including ones not specifically listed above. That doesn't seem to be the case. In the current G6 contest, the most popular vote-getters have only one view. What's the point of working on two views of a concept if 1) the 2 view rule is not enforced by the moderator 2) conceiving and drawing a second view adds work, time, and complexity for the entrants, and 3) the voters don't seem to appreciate or aknowledge the extra effort? Btw, the image isn't loading. Edited May 7, 200718 yr by JBarraxJr

May 12, 200718 yr Hello all! New member, but avid reader of C&G for...well, um months. This contest caught my eye, so I'd figure I'd give it a try. I give you... THE SATURN AURA TOURING!!! Yes, I know one is coming...eventually, but I have a wagon fetish :AH-HA_wink: FYI: that is not a grossly disproportionate roof, I thought incorporating the Astra's large windshield-moon roof-thingy into the front and rear glass would be cool and unique. It could be positioned as an SUV/sedan alternative, or even Saturn's flagship, with the right options and quality materials. I tried to make the interior look more European than in the sedan, but still seem similar (though it looks more like the acadia's... ). a wood-veneer beltline and dark-chrome(plastic) outline around the center stack adds some class. Backseat amenities would include optional heated/cooled rear seats, separate radio controls & climate zone, and a DVD entertainment system with a 'navigator' mode that mirrors the route of the nav. system and shows progress for the junior road-trippers in the back. individual reclining seats would also be interesting. enjoy! Aura Touring: Room for friends, family, and tons of memories(shoot me now...)

May 18, 200718 yr I didn't feel like hooking up my scanner, so it's a grainy picture instead of a clean scan. It's basically a 4/5 seat coupe that includes RWD and a pillarless hardtop (just for Sixty8). Wanted to do a Zeta Sedan, but I didn't like the result. This was originally going to be a convertible, but I thought it might be too similar to the Sky then. Thus, I give you that. I'm going to try to do another view since you guys keep bitching about it... Edited May 18, 200718 yr by blackviper8891
May 19, 200718 yr The initial post said the deadline for this was Tuesday May 15th. The thread link on the main forum says Tuesday May 19th which doesn't exist. Is it Tuesday the 15th or Saturday the 19th?
