Another thread just reminded me of a really dumb question I got as part of a Popular Music elective.

A listening question. They played a track from Metallica (can't remember which one, not a single).

That's probably the first time I've laughed out loud in an exam.

I remember the first question on my government HSA (High School Assessment, a state-mandated test administered as part of No Child Left Behind) from last year.

It is common knowledge that the HSAs are complete jokes, written by people who are barely proficient in spelling and basic grammar, let alone the subject you're being tested in.

I figured they'd have slotted Van Halen or RUSH in there, instead of the Rolling Stones...

That elective sounds pretty fun though. I ought to look for a similar elective when I go course hunting in the near future.
