I was at Costco last Sunday, at the Christiana Mall. Did you know they have a program there now where you can order cars through Costco. I saw the ad on the wall but didn't have time to look at it, but I will the next time I'm there.

If I ever stop being cheap, I will get one of these. Right now my restified 80s-vintage Schwinn is doing too well to consider retiring it.

Oh yeah i got you you beat a mid 70's Takara Road bike. A really bad yellow color I don't know what i was thinking back then. She still rides good. Although the gear shifting levers are so off whack its ridiculous every 2 miles or so the chain pops off. I should start using it to go to work.

That might be just a chain and derailleur cable problem. My bike, I got it in pretty crappy condition (rust on frame and wheels), was redone a week ago at the community bike shop, 2 hours of work, 6 bucks in parts. New chain, tube and tires, and brake cables. Now runs like a champ.

Some old bikes are worth keeping in good condition, and might worth something some day. For sure it's cheaper to maintain it than a car.

I'm just too lazy to fix it. Its not a precise shifter you have to manually line it up with a vague lever. Kinda of like Shifting a 80's Datsun Truck. All the chrome is rusted, It ways a ton. I doubt its worth anything. I payed 150 for it in the day. hmm, that was more than my first car.

I thought about getting a Trek Time trial bike for years now. Its just $1500 is a lot for anything pedal powered.

My friend has the Hummer bike...he bought it because it actually fits inhis Corolla. The way the frame literally folds in half is very cool. So is the front disk brake.

You probably just need to tighten the derailleur cables and adjust the limit screws on each derailleur. I'm not sure how to do that specifically for your bike, but Park Tooks (the equivalent of Snap-on for bikes) has a pretty comprehensive Repair Guide that should get you going again.
