May 7, 200718 yr My girlfriend is looking into an Acadia, Fly, or someone in Florida, could you tell me what an Acadia is going for? She is looking for an SLT-1 with Skyscape and leather. no DVD, or Nav. We want to see the difference in price betwen Florida and NY. THe reason being we plan on moving to Fl at some point and are debating whether it would be more cost effective to wait to buy and Acadia in FL, vs. NY.
May 7, 200718 yr Since as of this morning I have an unbelievable amount of free time, I'll be glad to swing by a dealership and take a look-see. If you do end up buying in FL, I have a great dealership to recommend.
May 7, 200718 yr Author Thanks Fly, that would be greatly appreciated....ocn, I don't know a Zipcode to use, I guess FLy could tell me that too
May 7, 200718 yr Thanks Fly, that would be greatly appreciated....ocn, I don't know a Zipcode to use, I guess FLy could tell me that too Depends on where you are going, I can provide you with the zip. Central FL, is around 327xx-328xx, Northern FL 321xx-324xx, Tampa Area 336xx, Miami 331xx-333xx. If I was you I will buy the car in FL. For two main reasons. Title transfer from NY to FL is a pain, as far as I have heard. Save some money while moving down to prepare for any unexpected expenses, unless you want to haul your stuff in the Acadia.
May 7, 200718 yr Author Thanks...I will check into it, can you plug in the zip code on GMC.com when building an Acadia?
May 7, 200718 yr Which state has the lowest taxes when it comes to new cars? North Dakota only has 5% state sales tax, but Fargo has a cent and a half tax as well. One of the reasons why I bought my Suburban at a small town dealer. I would imagine that this is the case in a lot of places.
May 7, 200718 yr The Carmax Salesperson said that South Carolina has like Max $200 tax or something like that.
May 7, 200718 yr I meant of the two states he was considering buying from. That is what would make my mind up as to where I bought the car from.
May 7, 200718 yr Have you considered the gas of getting the sled relocated to FL if you were to purchase in NY? It could cancel any savings. I say get it when you get settled in down there, if you choose to go.
May 8, 200718 yr If you do decide to purchase the Acadia in NY, you can drive it down to Virginia, load it onto AmTrak's AUTO TRAIN, and ride in comfort all the way down to FL. I believe the train ends just above Orlando. Here's a link for you to check out, if interested: Amtrak Auto Train I'd also look into state taxes and motor vehicle fees to make my decision. Not sure if you'll get much more of a discount buying in FL vs. NY or vice-versa. I'd also consider how hard it is to re-register and re-inspect the car in FL.
May 9, 200718 yr Since as of this morning I have an unbelievable amount of free time, Hey Fly ... does this mean what it sounds like it means....?
