It looks like it belongs on Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.

Headlights don't fit. The hood-to-bumper gap is about the same as the 98-04 Grand Am. Bumper and Fender Ground Effects don't line up. The bumper itself looks like it was inpsired by the movie Cars. The hood at least fits the Pontiac image... somewhat.

All in all, I give it an F.

Sadly... Each piece is an actual aftermarket part available for these Grand Ams. Except for the headlights... Dumb fool thought he could put Civic headlights on a Grand Am.

To be fair, the panel gaps are still thinner than the ones in the interior of the Grand-Am.

The lower fascia is the worst part, it looks like a goldfish.

The bumper (and Civic headlights) ruin it. I can live with the aftermarket hood, and I'm curious to see what that empty hole is for in the fender.

I'd like to see an aftermarket kit that competely changes a car into an all-original design. Kinda like the Calloway C6 is for the Corvette. Then again, I suppose a conversion like that is only suitable for cars that cost as much as the Corvette.

Forget the about the Fiero? In my neck of the woods, someone actually has installed a Countach body-kit on their Fiero ... and I really wish they didn't.

I would actually suggest just cleaning the cladding up, a la Bonneville GXP. Removing the cladding altogether will give you more problems to overcome like the indentations near the wheel wells and how the front and rear bumpers would then not match up with the sides. A similar thing happens with the 5th gen Grand Am coupes; the body panels dont line up correctly with the doors.

And that is quite a sexy N-Body, if I must say so myself. Why GM didn't make at least the GT look like that from the start is beyond me. Maybe if I can get either one of the two last generation Grand Ams really, really, really cheap with a stick and V6, and a body kit like that is available, maybe I can ignore the lack of rear-drive (it's a preferred thing, but, in the end, I guess I'm not going to let it prevent me from getting another car if I like at least 75 percent of it and it has great potential to look really great after a little customization).

EDIT: After a quick glance over at N-Body forums, it appears GM does make some sort of exterior mods for the Grand Am. This SEMA concept was supposed to showcase the available parts. A 5th Generation Grand Am GT coupe might just be what I buy next if I can get what I want at the right price, so let me know if this GM-supported appearance package can be purchased.

Well.. I don't know about whether those mods were ever available.. but I do know that RKSport has a kit for those Grand Ams that is similar to the Hot Wheels/GXP concepts. The kit doesn't look as good as the concepts, though. Clicky

I have a new idea when it comes to taillamps, as of right now for my S-10 and for the GA if I buy one. Take the stock lense piece off of the old taillamps and put them on the new ones. (Anything to avoid the ricey Euro look.)

That's not as bad as what you posted BV, but it still makes a riced-out Civic look attractive. The Grand Am graphic is cheesy.

Yeah... They added about 5 inches to front and the overall kit looks "fat" compared to the actual concepts.

As for the taillights... I've always like the idea of doing this (ignore the actual car):

What I had in mind at first, though, for a set of tail lamps, was something like what this guy did to his Grand Am here.
