Sctatched my Cornea

Featured Replies

I did it Monday night. I was breaking down a cardboard box to get it to fit in the garbage can, and it came up and nailed me in the right eye. Tuesday morning it was absolutely excruciating - it wouldn't stay open or stop tearing. I went to the hospital, and they sent me home with a prescription for antibiotic eyedrops and two Percocets (stupid pills). I spent most of Tuesday and yesterday in little to no light. Today is the first day I can tolerate a computer screen without pain. My vision is still blurry and will take a week to heal, so no riding this weekend.

Gah! It pains me just to read that you scratched your cornea. I hope it heals alright. Feel better.

Jesus Bro. Sorry. My dad had to go to the Boston Eye & Ear

Infirmary once after he had a piece of dirt fall in his eye

while we were hiking at the Harrold Parker State Forrest.

I was thinking the same thing.

Take it easy and I wish you quick and complete healing.

Oww!! Those hurt like no other.

Hope it heels fast man.

I was wondering what was up with you!

Sorry to hear about the injury. I was told that I had done the same thing by an ER Doctor once. She was dead wrong as the specialist they sent me to removed a chunk of metal from my eye about an hour later! It was a creepy experience as I heard the thing clink into a metal pan they used for the procedure. I had to drive home with an eye patch and no depth perception. Hurt like hell for quite a while, I hope your recovery is faster.

I've not had my cornea scratched, but a I have had a couple of pretty serious eye infections and I can definitely say that I know where you are coming from. Also, I agree with Camino, no depth perception sucks.

Yikes, z28 ... that sounds dreadfully painful :(.

Hope you feel better soon ... thoughts/prayers coming your way....

When I was young and dumb, I used a weedeater without eye protection and got a piece of vegetation in my eye that scratched my cornea... twice. Yes, it hurts like the dickens. Hope it heals fast, z.

What were you doing with that cucumber, oops I mean vegetation again? :P

Uh... circumcising it?
How's your eye, z?
