May 28, 200718 yr Casey Mears won NASCAR's longest race, the Coca-Cola 600, last night using fuel milage to beat out the top contenders. A long green flag run at the end of the race saw the expected front runners have to pit for fuel while Mears stayed out and held on over the final 8 laps to win. This race marks Chevy's 11th win out of the 12 races so far. Casey Mears' car owner Rick Hendrick has seen his teams win 9 of those. Now all four of Hendrick Motorsports teams have a victory this year. May 29, 200718 yr Good to see Jr. back in the top ten. I'd like to see Jaun Montoya in a Chevy, he is a great driver and would do a great job representing the General... Chris
May 30, 200718 yr Author Hendrick again..... Right now HMS has it together. They have won 9 out of 12 this year. Despite the early exit Jeff Gordon still holds the points lead. I think Gordon is going to get his 5th title this year.
May 30, 200718 yr I would argue that Mear's win is different than any of Gordon's or Johnson's. He has struggled all year and is 29th in points. For him to win, I don't think you could say it's "just" another Hendrick win. The team overcame so much with that win. Know what I mean?

But Casey's win boiled down to a gamble that paid off

Know what I mean? ooo....definately, not what i meant with that comment at all, though it is pretty amazing that it is Hendrick's 9th win. Casey has always impressed me and the fact that they finally pulled it together for a win is quite the acomplishment.
