2001 Olds Alero

2.4 L

AT

Got it June 1st. Only issue right now is the cruise control not working. I have to replace a clip in the column this weekend.

Ignore the date on the photos, my camera is really a piece of garbage.

Second major car purchase of mine, first one that I did on my own. Very proud of this baby.

Not bad photos. Nice Oldsmobile. Welcome to the Oldsmobile family. Once you have had this taste, you will want it again. There was nothing wrong with the photos. It was the first time in years I saw a car without power windows. I remember when that was common. The thing is you did it! You made the purchase.. I must say I am impressed. Congrats to you.. :ohyeah::thumbsup:

Yeah! A used Alero beats a new Corolla any day...sorry Jason! The Quad 4 is a great little engine when taken care of. Lots of power from a 4.

Neat car - congrats!

Crank windows o_O I didn't know those still existed on anything but the cheap cars and minivans...it's supposed to be entry luxury after all! Oh well, she's a clean lookin' car. Best of luck!

Nice ride, finally a decent looking car, I would want a 5spd and alloy wheels tho. (Find a set off of another Alero or even a Aurora that would be sweet!)

Wow...it's identical to the 2001 Alero I once had. That car was a real party car for me...I was going through an extended...uhhhh..wild phase of life at that time. Oh, the drunken, inappropriate behavior stories my silver Alero could tell.

Anyhow, my cruise control acted up too..as did alot of things on that car. In fact, my Alero was repurchased by GM in 2002...just days before our Texas Lemon Law hearing. I wonder where that car is now...is it yours???

I have some questions, why do you still have the plastic that GM installs at the factory on the front foot wells? Why is it there years after the car was new and why didn't the dealer take it out, that's what they are paid to do. Also your engine bay is so clean it also looks like a pic that was taken when it was new. Are the dates wrong on the pic or is that when the pics were actually taken? Seems very funny to me.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing PCS......

The only thing I could think of:

I've seen that plastic in quite a few cars...most recently, our Caliber. You'd be surprised how many don't..

That plastic looks either dirty or yellow-maybe old people owned it?

As far as the engine bay-you'd surprised how how good detail can be sometimes....

When I clean her car up-you'd almost think my engine was new...

Waiting for Tink to respond.....

She says she bought it used. My car came the same way since it was from a dealer. My engine bay also looks good n' clean.

I get paid to take that stuff out of new cars. At many dealers though, mine included, they sometimes put those back in when the car's detailed. Or maybe someone just left them in there. :scratchchin:

Clean Alero. Do your best to keep it that way. :)

My friend has an Alero. I like it until we go somewhere and my 6'2" ass gets crammed in the backseat...

A very fine car, though.
