June 14, 200718 yr Very nice pics. So you live in Maryland huh? Howdy neighbor! From your neighbor in Delaware.
June 14, 200718 yr Author I'm actually something of a traveler . . . Maryland was home for a while, but for now its temporarily a place with a roof. Howdy all the same.
June 14, 200718 yr Author I was using a Canon DSLR with a Canon 50mm f1.8 primary lens. No closeups really; just telephoto shot from afar. It is about a 60 dollar lens.
June 14, 200718 yr Oh WOW ... very cool and interesting and "unusual" pics from the car show! Thanks for sharing those . June 14, 200718 yr Author Thank you, Knightfan26917; and thank you as well, Ocnblu. The car show was held in Western Maryland in the Cumberland area.
June 14, 200718 yr To bad ocnblu, it's not the slower, lower Eastern Shore! They don't drive any faster in western Maryland...I think the speed limit on I-68 through Cumberland is 40, and the speed limit around the city is 50. Nice pics, btw. I love that old Corvette.
June 15, 200718 yr Author Yah, I don't think you can get any higher than 55 mph on main roads. You have to go up into the mountains in order to speed at all.
June 15, 200718 yr Nice pics, you captured some great angles of those cars! I'm just a beginner in photography...I took an architectural photography class two semesters ago and am planning on purchasing a new digital camera this summer. I want to get a DSLR but I think it will be out of my price range. Welcome to the forum!
June 15, 200718 yr Author I've lurked in a sense for a while. A DSLR is a good investment. In my opinion getting a EOS Rebel from canon or a D50 from Nikon is the way to go as far as affordable cameras. As far as awesome, if your friends have a D80 from Nikon or a 30D from Canon those are some of the best bang for the buck, but much more expensive than the Rebel or D50. The D40 from Nikon is kinda eh. Some like it, most don't, I wouldn't do that route. I never took any photography classes other than to make sure I still know how to develop film and print in a darkroom. Keep shooting! Show your pictures to people you know who shoot. You can always learn with a fresh perspective!
June 15, 200718 yr I'm somehow making do with my Sony Cybershot 3.2. Oh well. Beautiful shots, though. Truly shows off the beauty of the automobile.
