October 5, 200520 yr Croc... See Sciguy's post to see what I was talking about. It goes above each. The spoiler may give it that affect, as Ocnblu said, though. I hope its the case as it looks horrible. If it was done right... I'd prefer it over body colored.
October 6, 200520 yr What happened to the ram air hood? I thought this thing was supposed to have a hood similar to the 4 Runner... Did GM change that? [post="24236"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] The Yukon never had a ram air hood or hood scoop, that was bad info.
October 6, 200520 yr Yea ocn is right, and I noticed that figuring everyone else had too when I made my post.
October 6, 200520 yr Like the DTS? [post="24477"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Yeah, somewhat like the DTS, the STS has the same thing but to a lesser extent (the headlights aren't "pushed" as far back).
October 6, 200520 yr Come to think of it, this new model actually reminds me a lot of the original Denali. (The one that shared it's front end with the original Escalade)
October 6, 200520 yr From the first moment I saw it, I thought it was great. The more I look, the better it gets. The interior is much better than the Tahoe's, but does look to similar, as has been mentioned. The side cladding looks similar too, or is my mind playing tricks on me?
October 6, 200520 yr I'm sad to see the masculine side of the Yukon go, but overall build quality appears much improved.
October 6, 200520 yr Denali keeps the "electric shaver" grille. The grille should be less trapezoidal. It's too narrow towards the bottom. Could use a touch of chrome over the rear license plate provision as well. Other than that, I like it. The subtle shaping of the taillights is cool. I'm glad the tacky cladding is gone. The fullsizers have always shared interiors, so it doesn't bother me that this is just modded from the already-classy Chevy. As long as the Eskie has a unique inner lining.

October 7, 200520 yr Here is the official GMC site: http://www.gmc.com/newvehicles/2007yukon/index.jsp [post="25289"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] You really see the "Big Envoy" look in that picture of the silver Yukon. Those pictures make it look a LOT better than the initially released ones. And that interior is just AMAZING! Also, I really liked the blacked-out taillights on the Denali. Nice touch, GM! [post="25293"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Yeah, but the nav does not look nearly as good as it did in the original pics (http://www.gminsidenews.com/naias/GMT900/Yukon/yukh9.jpg) . Here it looks more like what they already have on the market. i am wondering if this pic on the GMC site is of the nav from a Envoy Denali? Edited October 7, 200520 yr by envoy03
October 10, 200520 yr So, did anyone see the mileage specs of the Yukon on the website? Or do we just not want to comment on them. How in the hell do they figure 21mpg combined? I see 21 mpg on the highway and I 15 in the city. You add them together, divide by 2, and you get an average or combined mileage. Am I wrong in thinking that that is how you get a combined mpg? Oh, wait a minute. I think I've figured it out. GM figure combined mileage by saying 99% is highway and 1% is city. That's how they get the 20.5 and 20.1!! Silly me! ENGINES 4.8L V8 • 290 hp • 290 lb-ft torque • 15 mpg city/ 19 mpg highway* ENGINES 5.3L V8 • 320 hp • 340 lb-ft torque • 15 mpg city/ 21 mpg highway (2WD)* • 15 mpg city/ 20 mpg highway (4WD)* ENGINES 6.2L V8 (Denali Only) • 380 hp • 415 lb-ft torque • 13 miles city/ 19 miles highway* *Based on GM® testing. Official EPA figures not yet available.
October 10, 200520 yr Those figures appear to be with all 8 cylinders working, otherwise there would be a more dramatic difference between the other two engines, gas mileage-wise.
October 10, 200520 yr Well, I like what I see so far. The Yukon & Tahoe are really nice. :) I like how these vehicles remain GM in appearance but, look more refined than Toyotas. This makes me really excited to see what other future GM products will look like. In one word, WOW

[post="26372"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] That doesn't make sense. Why would GM shoot themselves in the foot by reporting low numbers? Edited October 10, 200520 yr by Derek77
October 11, 200520 yr gotta see it to enjoy it truely... those pictures suck compared to what they really look like... saw the denali and the tahoe at the Anahiem convetion center... and what a beaut they are...
October 11, 200520 yr newbie, did you actually get to sit in them? I'm thinking of going to the show around thursday if i get the chance and want to deal with traffic going down there :)
