Maybe someone can explain this to me. How is a car that isn't suppose to be on sale until early 2008 being sold USED by a private owner in Lexington, Kentucky? Excuse the image quality, they were taken with my wife's 2MP camera phone, didn't have our Kodak with us.

Anyone care to guess where this came from?

Definitely grey market. I saw an older, Mercedes-badged SMART at the local SuperTarget last week. Had some attorney's face plastered all over it.

Yeah, it doesn't look like it has the extended bumpers that ther US version is supposed to get to comply with safety standards.

Smarts have been sold in some areas in the US for a couple of years now, imported by ZapCars (which has since moved on to importing tiny Chinese electric cars since DC is now going to be officially bringing the Smart).

What kind of asshole parks a FourTwo in such a manner that it STILL takes up two parking spaces?!?

 how's that for space inneficiency?

+1. Yup, they modified to meet the US crash standards.

We're (officially) only getting the 2nd generation 2007 version, which everyone gets and it's longer than this 1st gen.

I think they went on sale, since I too, have seen one of them when I was in the parking lot of B.J's wholesale club the other night, when a tiny, black car drove into view. I was like, What the.... The car was REEEEELLY tiny, so it was a stand out. It was cute though, but since I don't like small cars, it wasn't really my cup of tea.
