July 6, 200718 yr ive read about it alot on Stevesnovasite.com and in a recent HOT ROD article.... as long as you have the patience and lots of time... why not.? but theres a LOT of sanding and MANY thin coats to make it work... if you try it, keep us updated!
July 6, 200718 yr Author im on the fence...i have the time but i dont have a sheltered place to do it. A guy did a 66 corvaire in his driveway outside. he just sanded of bugs and stuff. Some paintjobs I've seen with this method look not so great but some look incredible.
July 6, 200718 yr I might try it out of curiosity if it was some piece of $h! I didn't care about, but if I wanted a show car then I'd just pay to have the car painted properly.
July 7, 200718 yr Author Don't need a show car...and atleast you know how and what your car was painted with instead of those cheap maaco jobs.
July 7, 200718 yr Author I have $800 in the bank to use on the car. So if this costs $100-150 to do, i Have $650 to redo the headliner and I already added up $200 in stuff to order from a classic buick parts site. so thats over $400 for a mechanic to install a new fusebox and fix the sticking breakpedal...My parents are willing to invest 1000-2000 into the car if absolutelly necessary..but I have to use my money first. I already bought "stick on" chrome for the trunk where the clips have broken and the chrome is all dented up anyway. I dont need an all original car...If I sell it...the selling point will be the engine. And I don't plan on selling it anytime soon.
