that this is easy to replace...

Since it looks like the wagon is going to stick around a while...I'm debating whether I should reaplace the MAF soon...

It should fix the idle and the pick up issue...

Those who have worked on the 3.1s...how easy it is to do?

Is it something I can do-or should I get a bit of help?

MAF's are connected to your intake somewhere after the air filter and before the throttle body. It should have a cable attached to it, and it should come off very easy by unscrewing some hose clamps that probably attach it.

What Nick said... The MAF is pretty easy to remove.

Yeah, the Mass Air Flow Sensor is an easy replacement, remove the hose clamps on both sides, unplug the sensor, remove, then reverse process.

On my 3.1, that would be by the air filter? I think I found it....

Would hate to pull out the wrong thing....

It would be, and it would be fairly large, so if its a little sensor plugged into the tubing, then you've got the Intake Air Temp sensor, which just tells the ECM how hot or cold the air coming into the engine is.

I'm glad you told me that-I was looking at the little one....

How much do you think the MAF sensor will fix on my poor wagon?

I'm hoping for both better pick up and idle.....I'm thinking the MAF isn't working much (or at all-when it's warm outside-the cars really drags...

I'll have to take another look tomorrow...
