Features read:

Finally a vehicle that can keep up with your life in the fast lane * A race-tuned, high-performance suspension developed from testing on numerous North American and European racetracks * Five-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter * Four-wheel antilock disc brakes * Road-hugging ground effects and unique front and rear fascias * Aggressive black cross-mesh grille * Liftgate-mounted aero spoiler * Analog A-pillar-mounted titanium boost gauge * Leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted audio controls * Available late fall 2007.

That photo does not look flattering...I hope it looks better from other angles/photos.

Just saw this posted on cobaltss.net . I love it, you'll be able to tell the difference between them and it should be VERY quick.

Not exactly attractive...

Might be a performer though! I'm sure everyone will find 1000 things wrong with it though, god forbid GM have a competitive sport compact. (Or the market know that it has one anyway)

Hopefully GM can promote this better than it promotes the panel and especially base HHR... This COULD be the cool alternative to Scion, if GM knew how to sell it.

I NEVER thought I would say this, and while it certainly isn't for me...that doesn't look bad at all.

Since that manual-G6-with-only-two-pedals-chop we know that GM photography is... well...

Very hot looking. I hope it comes in a long list of colors instead of the usual red, silver, white, black. Can't wait to read more.

And if you look clearly at the shadows, it's "right hand drive"

Nice photography GM...next time try just shooting from the correct side of the car in the first place

Any idea on pricing? $21-22k?

I really like it, especially the front fascia. If its priced right it will definitely go on my consider list.

Maybe I'm showing my age but to me the front fascia is over the top and I hate "cross mesh"/chicken wire whatever you want to call it.

I really like it. The marketing department loses ten points because of the backwards bowtie, though. Something that concerns me.... Just as the Cobalt came as the Cobalt SS and the Cobalt SS Supercharged, this is named the HHR SS Turbocharged. Could a tamer, non-deserving-of-the-SS-name, naturally-aspirated HHR SS be on its way?

Well my initial reaction is the grille isn't so bad. Definitely prefer the black over the regular chrome grille. The lower bumper I'm still thinking about...hm.

I think the picture is backwards/reversed.

Yeah, it's horizontally flipped.

I love it, even though we're looking at a mirrored image. :P

Turbo>SC

I like it.

I'd rather see it as a coupe, if you catch my drift. :P

I really like this model, however I think it would be really interesting to have a Panel HHR SS with the rear doors deleted. I think that would absolutely be amazing in black. Does anybody know the horsepower ratings yet though?

It's ok, but I think it would look better with the crossbar on the lower third instead of the upper. Or in the middle.

So, since this is taking the PT's place in the world, when does the convertible come? :)

Should be fun to drive and I have yet to find anyone who has not loved their HHR after they bought it.

I even have talked to some who were PT owners in the past and they said they would not go back to a PT for anything.

The only complaint has been they should come stock with running boards to prevent the stone chips on the rear fenders and a little more power. Well they fixed one of them and the other is still an option.

Wasn't there a panel version? why didn't they use that, I think that would've looked better.

Ah, the grille the HHR should've had since day one, only that bar needs to be lowered a bit.

I've told myself previously that if I were to get the HHR I'd have to swap out the grille. But if I were to get the HHR SS, I would't have to.

The original link doesn't work Fly!

It used to work, but I think the whole site is down today. I bought a new HHR yesterday and I am bummed that the information there isn't available to me now. I hope it is a temporary problem.

Looks alright, but I'm still opposed to any front-drive car using the SS badge. I prefer LTZ, or even Z02.

A PTCruiser, but worse looking, and "SS" badges on the sides?

"Daytona" trucks, "SS" econoboxes, what the heck is wrong with today?

I agree!!!!

SS PTCruiser.... yack!

I can understand if it's says SS but doesn't perform... But much like the Cobalt SS (s/c), I think this will have the performance to back up the SS name.

They're probably on a smallish server that got slammed by a eleventybillion redirected hits from here and all the other forums.

First off, the HHR mimics the old Suburbans.

Second off, this isn't the 60's, SS stood for appreance packages go fast add ons. This should do a 14 second quarter easy. Show me how many other cars in this category that will for this price.

Put the HHR beside a PT Cruiser and a "old Suburban" and tell me what it mimics... ;)

SS packages on a 2009 Camaro, sure. But an HHR. Not for me!

There are cars that can go 14s for the same money.

Ummm how about this?

A 1949 Chevy Suburban! :P

What a great picture. Thanks. I just made that my desktop background.

Regarding the SS connotation -- 260 hp in a smallish vehicle should earn it the right.

Full size straight 6 or V8 truck? With two doors! About as credible as a 1937 Chrysler Airflow I guess.. ;)

LOL
