Bug + Fire = Bad Smell

Featured Replies

So earlier tonight my girlfriend pointed out that the cat was staring at the overhead light. There was this strange looking fly thing on it...it was long and skinny and had wings. Didn't look like anything I'd seen (or killed) before. So, I did what any logical person (who enjoys fire) would do: I used my little Bernz-O-Matic lighter (which works like a torch) and put the flame to it. It fell off and landed on my tool box on the floor. Not satisfied, I torched it a couple more times to ensure it was proper dead. It was cool because every time I did it the thing would singe and light up. But I ended up stopping because it smelt really bad! Then I vacuumed it up.

I'm not evil I swear! Buts o help me, any insect that enters my house is fair game...stay outside and you're fine...enter my domain and only death awaits you. *evil laughter*

SO yeah...torched bug smells bad....a life lesson we can all take home with us! :D:P

I bet it dosen't smell as bad as burning your eyebrows trying to light a cigarette with a lighter that has the flame adjusted to shoot about 3 inches..... :scared:

Haha... A week ago, this beetle was flying around and really annoying me. I finally got it onto a pen. Since I had candles lit, I just dropped it into the hot wax. :P

That reminds me of a story involving a friend of mine and a stove and oil.

Sixty8 showed me that Start Fluid makes kickass Hornet/Bee/insect killer.

In the house I use everything from windex, to dish soap, to hot water and good old fashion heavy objects.

I've had worse happen to me...once I was refilling my Zippo with lighter fluid and some dripped out and got on my left hand and my pants....anyway I went to light the thing, my left hand went up in flames and I went to pat it out on my pants...which then caught fire and then wearing a sweater....that went up in flames...the flames went up my entire torso and up and over shoulders....this is happening in my Riv no less...so while my ex is about to throw soda at me to put me out...I'm worried about my leather seat burning and telling her is the seat on fire?! meanwhile I look like the Olympic torch....needless to say I was extinguished

Yeah :P

I haven't looked that video up in a long time. "IT BURNS!"

The funny thing is I didn't even flinch as it was happening because I had a third degree burn on my left foot when I was ten from the boiling antifreeze in my dad's '85 Mustang...he was doing a coolant flush, and started it and not seeing me standing there...it backflowed and melted my shoe to my foot....so if I can handle that...a little fire to warm your chest and crotch aint gonna worry me :P

"Crotch Warmer. For those cold winter nights."

And yikes, that's gotta have been painful.

Wasn't a Dragonfly or a Damselfly...those are cool.

It kinda looked like a hornet that had been staved so it's body had shriveled and gotten very skinny...oh and no stinger or yellow markings.

man I love eating shrimp...but damn those suckers are ugly with their heads

This thread is magnifying glass approved, :D

I'd have to agree with that statement. I've actually been seeing a lot of dragonflies around my neck of the woods recently. :P

Sounds kinda like a robber fly ...
