We’ve all heard and weighed in on the merits of stoplight cameras, but now California’s Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) has installed five stop sign cameras in the Santa Monica Mountains.

WHAT?!

Santa Monica mountains?!

Uh oh...this does not look good for Nick...

Oh no. I didn't come to a full and complete stop at 1:30 AM on a Tuesday. I really deserve this ticket.

f@#k you, California. Seriously.

:withstupid:

The tickets will not be held up in court. The California Vehicle Code authorizes enforcement cameras only for running red lights.

There better be a 5-mph buffer, or you will ticket just about every driver that approaches that particular intersection.

The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia strikes again.

Yep.

A friend told me a pretty funny story about one of the speeding cameras, thought I'd share it here.

He went to university in Germany. They had a news piece there one day about a guy who got away with speeding past a camera because he had no front plate and the picture that the camera took of what was supposed to be his face was instead his naked butt, which he had flipped upside down to point at the camera.

Can you imagine trying to drive a car, upside down with your pants off?
