Coming home from Europe almost a week early...

I think the reservations folks must get a kick out of me. I have hub and spoke maps of airline routes in my head, so I suggest what the routing options might be when availability is tight. Another creative and very multi-segmented trip from Florence IT to Portland OR has been put together for me, but I am leaving in a day and a half. It will be nice to be home.

I think he should be a flight attendant (also known as sky girls, air hostesses, stewardesses). Bob what size mini skirt do you wear? :scared:

Can I borrow YOUR legs? :smilewide:

Welcome back! Where were your layovers?

I'm off the airport just to pick up the ticket because it has to be a PAPER ticket. I'll let you know when I have it in my hands and can believe it.

How long is your "layover" (or under, whatever the case may be) in Wilmington?:smilewide:

I now have a ticket. This beats my record of 5 segments (occurring in 2002 as well as coming over this time)

SIX 'effin segments:

1 Florence - Paris

2 Paris - London

3 London - New York

4 New York - Houston

5 Houston - Seattle

6 Seattle - Portland (*)

It's a SkyTeam ticket so the first 2 legs are Air France and the next 3 are Delta/Continental. (*) I then had to ask her to look up Alaska for the last segment as they collaborate with Sky Team and she found me a spot on the puddlejumper between Seattle and Portland. Yahoo.

Glad to be going home. I will sleep for a couple of days and also hit some granolafied hot springs somewhere (it's Oregon, after all) to soothe some sore muscles. In the future, there will only be 2 week trips to Europe.

Wouldn't it be faster to walk? (or swim, as the case may be) I have a friend who works for the airlines and he calls himself a "space waitress." And thank God he does NOT wear a miniskirt - there would be a lot of open windows on his flight.

Wow...6 segments. My last trip to Italy I came back in 3 segments. Milan to London, London to Phoenix, Phoenix to Denver.

It's because it's a non-revenue ticket (freq. flyer) and it's a very late change. I was happy to get it, though.

Ah yeah... using freq. flyer tickets (domestically or abroad) is always a pain.... I've managed to get 4 'free' flights back and forth from the US to London in the past with FF tickets.

I live in Hockessin (that's pronounced Hoe Kessin), and the Wilmington Assembly plant isn't actually in Wilmington but in one of it's suburbs. :P

Well I just thought you and Bob would want to get your hotel room at least a few miles from home. Jeez, how much of a Ho (Kessin) are you? :AH-HA_wink:

So.... you'll be home right around your originally scheduled return date......

Yeah, and I'm sure you're itching for an "invite."

Remember, you make time coming back. I will be overnighting in London. The net gain is about 5 days. A couple of things have started to wear on me and I want H-O-M-E. Plus, I have been sitting around my relatives' house in Florence for 5 days now, doing nothing, without a car and it is f@#king hot and humid.
