Of course everyone's seen my '68 Panther (Camaro) vanity plates. They read PANTHR since we're only allowed six characters here in Massachusetts. But I also collect License Plates from all over the world. I've got like 47 or 48 of the United States, in some cases dozens of one state and like 200 of Mass and NH each.





This one I got off of eBay and it's hanging up on the wall in my house.





Another 170 or so are haning up in my shed/garage. Most I got off eBay and some are as old as the 1920s.

Anyone else collect plates?

My aunt works at the DMV, so one year for Christmas, she had custom vanity plates made for my brother and me with the UNC logo and our initials on them. They can't actually be used as a legal license plate, and I hate plates on the front, but it makes a nice addition to my wall.

My uncle collects license plates... not necessarily vanity plates, though. He has alot. Some from the very early 1900s...

Yup, I've got a lot of Dealer Promo plates too... maybe I can mail you a few extras for a couple Minnesota plates. Sell them on eBay, it's a shame to wreck them for scrap metal.

Is that regulation to have chains on the bumpers? My favorite license plate is the Alaska plate. Its so cool for a license plate. Do you have a Alaskian plate?

Got a couple Alaska plates, I've never wopn an eBay auction for a Bear plate... one time my highest bid was for like $15 and a pair went for like $90. I'm too cheap for that! Caprice: yes, the track get's littered with car parts which can be dangerous so the bumpers have to be chained and the doors as well. You can weld the door s shut too but either way you're making a Dukes of Hazzard entrance/exit.

I understand now about the chains. it just looks funny like what some kid would do to keep from bumper dragging. I like that Rattle can paint job!!

I've just started to aquire a few plates to hang on the wall by the computer and in the garage. I have a whole box of PA ( and a few nearby states) plates I got from my grandma's house. Oldest one is from 1929, most from the 70s and 80s. I bought a few from ebay and traded with people I know in other states for a few others. I have PA Conserve Wild Resources (with the Owl), PA D.A.R.E., Maryland Treasure the Chesepeke, and Florida Challenger among others. If anybody is interested in an 80s style yellow background PA plate, or a 90s style blue background plate with seven characters I'd be interested in trade. Both plates are "Keystone State". Traded my only "You've got a Friend in Pennsylvania" plate for a New York plate.

How about a New Hampshire and Mass plate for one yellow/blue and one blue/yellow Penn plate? Both in good condition. Let me know... if you have any really cool numbers like 427, 350, 326, 454, 327, 1957, 1968, 1969 or whatever let me know I love cool mumerics. I got a '69 NJ plate that reads "SLY" (Silvester) and a few cool vanities like one that reads IROCZ.

Over the years,California had a wide variety of license plates. Here are some examples: 1. In the 1950s they were yellow with black numbers/letters and went like this WEV519 and B 45 248. 2. In the 60s, the colors were reversed. 3. in the 70s and early 80s California plates were blue and yellow. Initially they were 813 KOE and 25 864 W, then 1BWM661 and 1V48121. 4. In the late 80s. California plates changed to a white background with dark blue characters. They had CALIFORNIA with a sunset background and "the golden state at the bottom. That changed to red CALIFORNIA lettering in about 89. 5. In 1994 the CALIFORNIA lettering was changed to cursive and these are the plates used today

I liked the old Pennsylvania license plates, the solid blue with yellow initials...... then they had to change it.....



I have 2 other plates.......one is a vanity plate from Nevada that says "SINCITY"....... and my other one.....



Of course they are not real, but I think they are cool.

In Vegas they were stores that sold old license plates from all 50 states and Canada...... whoever chose the current PA scheme I swear was either a 7 year old or smoking some terrible mind-altering crap.

Sounds good, those are two I don't have. blue one is in very good cond. I'll have to check my box of yellow ones, pretty sure I can find a "clean" one.
