Hmmmmm, which should I choose for my kid? A Civic with wheels that fall off or an Astra? Can someone help me with this decision?

I saw the Opel Astra 3-door in Germany and it is HAWT!

especially in black.... really sets off the bits of chrome.

It looks good even with the US-spec bumpers.

Perhaps it is my imagination, or these photos are clearer, but it looks like they blacked-out the headlamps and backup lamp lenses. Cool.

Heeeeey ....with help from the Astra , it looks much better . The pic isnt photoshopped , I have about 300 hours in fabbing these lights .

Im not sure that is the US interior , these appear to be the same 2 original press cars from awhile ago . Sexy none-the-less . I really hope they eventually bring the VXr over as a Redline , then I will buy one .

And I've admired the current Astra since I first saw it. But fear not, my loathing for BMW still runs strong.

when I do go back, the only thing I won't leave behind is my love for American cars. About 6 months after I move, I plan to pick up a CTS-D for my touring needs

The more I look at this, the more it looks like a Cobalt. How very exciting. (sarcasm)

The 3-door is a good hot hatch, but for the five door, I'll take a Mazdaspeed3 please. The five door doesn't excite at all, and thats what picks up the sales in this segment.

The 5-door sure excites me. It's the hatchback that reminds me the most of the old Golfs we used to have. I don't like the "coupe" window line on the 3-door.

I like the 5-door a lot! The Coupe, not so much. The lines and body reminds me of the Dodge Caliber, very straight-cut and sharp. I like the Civic Coupe better than this coupe, but this 5-door looks better than the Civic sedan.

I prefer the five-door too. The three-door is a bit too Focus.

I like the 5 dr..easier to get stuff in and out....

Still waiting on the colors...different pics of anything that is not red or silver...

For the record, I've recieved word from the Astra Brand Manager that the media pictures released were inaccurate and that the '08 Astra will - as suspected - not have navigation.
