Chevy Colorado Wheel question...

Featured Replies

I just purchased a 2006 Colorado 4x4 Extended Cab Z71. I really don't like the small 15 inch wheels and tires and would like to replace them with the 18 inch wheels that come with the Extreme and the ZQ8 sport suspension option.

Is this a possible swap? I have always heard that 2wd wheels will not work on 4wd trucks, but its not like I'm going mudding with it and putting all of the stresses of a 4wd on it daily. Some hauling, some towing, but thats about it.

Does anyone know if this will work? Also, does anyone know what the tire conversion would be from my 15's to the 18's to keep the same diameter, speed, and braking the same as it is now?

Thanks, any help or infomation is appreciated.

Scott

If the bolt pattern and offsets are the same, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Xtreme wheels have a bolt pattern of 6x139.7 as do the 15" wheels. Offset on the 15s is 23mm (all of this according to eBay auctions). I would post something at a Colorado-specific forum, they should know there.
