September 23, 200718 yr Well, it's just a little over a day now before I depart, please don't all cheer at once! Y'all be good and don't fight to much with each other, remember we're all one big happy GM family! I won't be posting as much (good news for many of you), but I will still lurk. If you want to contact me, I'm on all the Microsoft/Windows messengers, just add [email protected] . Just remember I do not check that email address, so don't email me there. I enjoyed all my discussion threads here on C&G, even when we didn't quite agree. I will be watching closely the sales of the G8, come the new year. Many things hinge on that car, it will be interesting to see how the public reacts to it, or not! Anyway I start my new assignment on October 1, 2007, funny that's also my 1 year anniversary date here at G&G. Does it only feel like a year that I have been here? It feels much longer to me too, almost like I have always been here! Anyway, here is the flight I'm taking, thank God it's a direct flight, only about 8 hours in the air, yep, you guessed it, I hate to fly, but I have a job where I fly a lot, go figure. Philadelphia, PA (PHL) to Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH) Non-stop - 7hr 55min | Boeing 767 See Ya, When I See Ya! der Börger
September 23, 200718 yr PCS, Viel Glück zu Ihnen. Ich hoffe, dass Sie eine sichere Reise und ein guter Beruf mit GM haben. Schicken Sie uns einige guten Opels bald. Auf Wiedersehen

Who runs the sled that does PHL-ZHR nonstop? Swiss or US Airways? Let us know when you get there!
September 23, 200718 yr Have a safe flight to Zürich. You have my Messenger contact, so feel free to say 'hi' whenever you feel like
September 23, 200718 yr Have a safe flight Ouch... You got shafted onto a 767... They're like battleships compared to the 777s and A330s that also do that route
September 23, 200718 yr Too bad you can't get a flight on an A380. I cannot wait to see one of them bad boys.
September 23, 200718 yr Too bad you can't get a flight on an A380. I cannot wait to see one of them bad boys. A380 isn't debuting for commercial service until next month with Singapore Airways...
September 23, 200718 yr Ouch... You got shafted onto a 767... They're like battleships compared to the 777s and A330s that also do that route I kind of like the '67. Actually, it's got the most comfortable cabin layout for those of us in economy: 2-3-2, so it's easy to move in and out of seats and twin aisle allows one to walk around. I know the 777 is an advanced plane but I'm not crazy about it. Twin aisle, yes. However, it's seating is configured as 2-5(bleh)-2 or 3-3-3 in the economy cabin. There is a 400 version of the '67 that is rarely seen (only run by DL and CO) that has the TV monitors for every seat. Know nothing about the Airbus product you refer to. Can't wait to see the new 787 and am only merely interested in the A-380 as it's not Boeing...rather keep the money domestically and support the 747-8 series.
September 23, 200718 yr Yeah, 747-8 All The way The LX and AC A330 Cabins look like this... http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1202826/L/ and I understand some of the 767-400s are going international now (they all used to be domestic only) From an economic standpoint, the 767 is one of the most robust, strong planes I've ever seen... (not as much so as the 727/DC9/737-200) but it's up there. From a passenger standpoint, I hate flying on them because, due to the main gear bogies tilting in the opposite direction, it's harder for the pilot to 'grease' it and therefore landings aren't so smooth for the most part. September 25, 200718 yr I went to a university in Switzerland. Bob knows, he's very put off about that fact! Yeah, since they didn't make the US News and World Report Top 50 Ranking, of course I'm put off. Ha ha ha.
