October 11, 200520 yr Cool, we've been expecting this... now I want to see spy pics of the hardtop that the insiders have hinted at for a while.
October 11, 200520 yr The front looks better here, I didn't like the slight changes so much in the previous spy pics.
October 11, 200520 yr I wonder if it's possible to make the spoiler to be auto-retracting like Porsche. Or does Porsche have a patent for that?
October 11, 200520 yr BTW, anybody notice the foglamps are different from the current production model? Maybe reshaped bumper to share part with Sky?
October 12, 200520 yr it looks like there might be a nitros oxide tank mounted behind the passnger seat. interesting, maybe it is just a fire extinguisher.
October 12, 200520 yr Didn't the General make it official that the Solstice would be getting the Supercharged Ecotec instead of a Turbo! http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103319
October 12, 200520 yr Yea me too. I could use the photo sales. [post="27317"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

But rumours are floating around that it might not make it to the showroom.

October 13, 200520 yr That thing looks damn good. Can't wait to see that turbo/rollcage in my buddy's Solstice... Joshhh... B) ^_^

I was hoping for a turbo but I guess that's a more expensive option especially now that GM is only putting turbos in it's upscale European brands. They could've used Subaru's turbo technology, but that's out of the realm of possiblities now. Now Toyota has it. DAMN THEM!
October 13, 200520 yr I just would like for the Solsky to have about 240-250 HP in GXP/Redline trim. I mean why settle for a package that can just handle a Miata or MX-5 or whatever they want to call it when you can go after what everyone (autorags) calls a well-balanced, well-powered sports car, the Flyin' H's S2000. (It has 240 HP even though it has an anemic 162 lb-ft of torque) Come on GM 240 HP/ 220 lb-ft.
October 13, 200520 yr If they put that in :metal: does anyone know the torque numbers on that engine setup? I hope the don't have all this HP and no torque (i.e. S2000) you had to wind that thing out to aroud 7-8 grand to leave the drump trucks at stop lights.
October 13, 200520 yr The modified front facia. This Solstice prototype had the regular facia on it. The one in the spy shots originally linked to has the modified facia with more cooling ducts.
October 13, 200520 yr Right....the inlets that are inward of the new turn signals in the front. Also, I'd expect the engine bay to be cleaned up for production. Those wires, cables, and such would be routed a little better.

[post="28204"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] The fascia is modified to house the intercooler as well. It will be a turbo, around 240HP.
