GM Production Schedule Through 2013!

Fairfax, KS

*Chevrolet Malibu and Saturn Aura continue until 2011

*Global Epsilon Buick and Saturn beginning in 2009

Anyone care to explain that one? It's the new "lacrosse" but why would there be a new saturn, while the Aura continues til 2011? fleet?

possibly, but the new Saturn could also be smaller than the Aura.

I read that the solstice/sky production is going to move from Wilmington to Bowling Green (3 $h!s?). What is going to happen to Wilmington?

well by saturn does it possibly mean opel?

obviously the buick is the first to get epsilon 2... but i thought saturn was supposed to be renewed on epsilon 2 in a few years

and since opel and saturn are somewhat sharing products, and epsilon is supposed to be global?

A sedan with a "trunk" rather than a fastback or wagon. E.g. the Vectra is built as a fastback (GTS), notchback, and the lwb wagon and Signum hatchback. A notchback is usually easily identified, but the distinctions between the others can be somewhat blurred. A "sedan" is broadly any "closed" car (as opposed to an open or convertible car)—many old sedans are fastbacks with fixed rear windows, and even older sedans often had no space behind the rear seat at all. Thus "notchback" is more precise.

Of course a notchback can also be a coupe.

so the 07 monte carlo and impala would be considered notchback?

where as my lt1 is a hatchback

OK, if you say so, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that quite yet. :AH-HA_wink:

Yeah, because you know more than the Manufacturing Executives that were negotiating the UAW contract....

Anybody knows more than they do.... OBviously....

DOH!

The Two Zetas @ the Lansing River Plant are gonna be the Lucerne & DTS replacements... The smaller Zetas (Impala, G8) will go to Oshawa...

:twocents:

If they couldn't make money building the Delta's in the U.S. at Lordstown how can they give them subcompacts? you would think they would be even less profitable.

An even lower cost reduction than price reduction, and oh, yeah … CAFE.

yeh Buick gets epsilon2 first, followed by saturn. It would be in GM's favor to make the "vectra" here and export? and then year later stop aura production and start the new aura.

These aren't 100% set in stone. And PCS has access to a lot of information that we are not privy to, so lets not jump on him for his speculation.

So

No Delta 2 production in North America (except for the Volt) - makes sense if theyre building them in Korea + Mexico + 4 plants in europe

No GMT355 in NA - Thailand? Mexico?

No obvious sign of Pontiac post 2013

Large Chevy built in Kansas in 2010 - stretched Epsilon FWD Impala replacement?

The basic outline from the UAW newsletter is misleading—the Colorado/Canyon replacements are still listed for Shreveport in the more detailed agreement, but are still conditional on demand etc., and seem to have been pushed back a couple of years.

Sure...'notchback' just means a bodystyle w/ a trunk as opposed to a hatchback, that's all...

PCS's tick-tock?

i remember asking some people at the dealership who were alive in mexico durring the sales period... and they denied a normal misconception would be to read it as "no go"

And in Europe everyone thought that Ford Mondeo sales would suffer because it's French slang for "my deoderant"

  • 5 months later...

Wow, so this is what being on here not very much in the past 6 months gets me....this stuff still up to date? Nice find, BTW!
