Some pictures of a base 2008 Ford Focus sedan at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie Ontario.

Interior looks much nicer than before, and it flows together nicely. Fit and finish is ok, although the housing for the radio screen was loose.

Exterior didn't have the chrome vents, and was very spartan.

Walkaround video:

It's better without the fake vents, but it's in no way as decent looking as say the Fusion, Escape, Edge...

Yikes...so many cutlines and creases...

that, my friend, is called SURFACE EXCITEMENT. lol

Ted, you been pulling trim off of cars again?

the inside is ok at best, wow the outside looks cheap.

Did you do a walkaround of the white Mustang? If you did, please post it to offset the feeling of :puke: of having to look at the NA Focus.

I always hope Ford will prove me wrong, but year after year they have the most poorly screwed together interiors.

I know its a pre-production early build or whatever, but it makes for a bad first impression. I just nudged the display screen surround, and it came loose.

I was going to edit this video, but since you asked, here ya go (polish_kris in the drivers seat and me behind the camera poking fun)....

The 08 Focus is actually not a bad car at all, and this interior is very stylish for such a basic vechicle. The whole car is starting to grow on me. Its a much better effort than the lame 2005 facelift. I would say it has a much more interesting exterior than a Cobalt sedan.

But still, the Euro Focus would be so much better in every way.

...But as ZL-1 demonstrates, its not for everyone.

Cheer up, I have some pictures of the Ford GT in Gulf livery that was next to it.

That car is just gross inside and out. The center stack buttons look like the keyboard keys off my old commodore 64. Why why why can't they bring the euro version over here?!! They are night and day compared to the worthless U.S. representations of a Focus.

YAY!

I really don't like the look of the interior.

There also doesn't seem a way to put an aftermarket stereo in it.

The new Focus is astoundingly unattractive. It's almost like they wanted people to think about the old Ford Escort. I've spent lots of time driving a '07 Focus. It's fun to drive and economical. Too bad the wagon model is gone.

Ford Escort reinvented. That's what it is.

You beat me to it.

Yeesh! That thing SCREAMS 1997 Escort with what would have been a really nice update.......in 2002.

Before seeing this, I used to think the Cobalt looked like a slightly-warmed-over Cavalier (which, sadly, didn't make me like it any less).

Maybe the higher-trim levels will look better....?
