Personally, I think a life sentence in prison is worse than death - death is the easy way out.

Also I don't think that the death sentence is justified or really deters criminals, but that's a whole different argument.

Life sentence wastes taxpayers money, as well as giving them an ever so slim opportunity to escape. Plus, if you you believe in teh afterlife and heaven/hell I guarantee it'll be worse than anything on this plane of existence.
