So, I want to design cars for GM. What colleges should I look for when selecting one, and what should I apply for that would give me a greater chance of becoming a designer for GM?

I had a '25 GTO in the works, but I didn't make it on time.

There's also CCS - Center for Creative Studies - in Detroit, I believe.

If you're really passionate about it - do it. It's a crapshoot that you'll actually get a job designing cars once you've graduated, but if you feel you're truly destined, don't let that one caveat hold you back.

There's also the Academy of Art college in San Fransisco, which was where I wanted to go. Nowadays, I'm so unsure of what I really want with my life.

Yeah, my ACCD Saturday High instructor told me that lots end up teaching or doing general industrial design. You need to have (or form) a passion or interest in industrial design besides for just cars. Would you still be interested if you had to design a Toyota or Kia or skateboard?

That would suck to have a passion to design cars, spend the money to go to design school, and end up designing kitchen appliances the rest of your life.

CCS graduates a quantity so small... they like to say they have 100% placement, so IF you graduate, you're 'guaranteed a job. Where the Big Wrinkle comes in is- they admit 4-5 times the number of students who they KNOW will never graduate, and have fun trying to transfer 2nd, 3rd & 4th year credits to another major! At least that's the way it was when I was there. DO your research- there are simply not a lot of job openings for car designers vs. those who would like to do it.

If I had the opportunity to design for Toyota or Kia, I would. I don't care if I work for Ford or Chrysler, I just want a job designing cars! (preferrably for GM or Toyota or Honda)

Thanks for the suggestions and ideas everybody! Currently, I'm an honer roll student, so hopefully It'll stay that way.
