November 6, 200718 yr Im just glad it now has a telescoping steering wheel! The Vibe needed one bad. I will finally be able to sit behind the wheel comfortably!
November 6, 200718 yr Was this vehicle "designed for action"? It looks like it was designed by Toyota to be a rental version of the Matrix. This thing will probably outsell the G8 and Solstice, no wonder Pontiac's image is garbage. I like how they have to use "designed" and not "engineered" for action. Because there is no real engineering going on at Pontiac, just badge jobs of other cars and adding spoilers and flashy wheels and ground effects.
November 6, 200718 yr What a shame it has the big, gas-guzzling Toyota 4-cylinder. For most people buying it for practicality, comfort, and value, the 1.8 is the one to get.
November 6, 200718 yr . Because there is no real engineering going on at Pontiac, just badge jobs of other cars and adding spoilers and flashy wheels and ground effects. IIRC the only NA brand to have its own design and engineering staffs is Cadillac.
November 6, 200718 yr 5-spd manual? 2.4L? 5-dr hatch? Red interior lighting? NOT a poorly rebadged Chevrolet? Holy $h!, this is the Pontiac I've been WAITING for.
November 6, 200718 yr Ah, according to Autoblog a 5-spd auto is optional on the 2.4L instead of a 4-spd. Interesting. Hell, I don't care, there's a standard 5-spd manual. I'm really excited about this new Vibe. The interior looks fantastic, way better than the new Matrix even. The exterior is good and the drivetrain choices are perfect. Standard equipment is nice, too. Can't wait to see pricing info.
November 6, 200718 yr It's those $h!-ass Toyota engines that don't allow me to accept the Vibe in the family. Replace them with ECOtecs and we'll talk. At least there is an option for a 2.4 with a little more umph than the 1.8 with a turbo that you had to rev up to hell and back to get any throttle response whatsoever. Still, under 160 hp for the GT is blah.
